Computer ‐aided identification of a novel pyruvate kinase M2 activator compound
DiscussionThis work proves that ZINC08383544 promotes the formation of PKM2 tetramer, effectively blocks PKM2 nuclear translocation, and inhibits the growth of tumour, and ZINC08383544 may be a novel activator of PKM2. This work may provide a good choice of drug or molecular fragments for the antitumour strategy targeting PKM2. Screening of targeted drugs by combination of virtual screening and bioactivity experiments is a rapid method for drug discovery. (Source: Cell Proliferation)

Long noncoding RNA HOTAIR promotes renal cell carcinoma malignancy through alpha ‐2, 8‐sialyltransferase 4 by sponging microRNA‐124
ConclusionsOur results demonstrated that HOTAIR mediated RCC progression in part through miR ‐124/ST8SIA4 axis, which functioned as a new prognostic biomarker in RCC. (Source: Cell Proliferation)

Sonic hedgehog signalling regulates the self ‐renewal and proliferation of skin‐derived precursor cells in mice
ConclusionOur results suggest that the Shh signalling pathway has an important role in the proliferation, self ‐renewal and apoptosis of mSKPs. These findings also provide a better understanding of the cellular mechanisms underlying SKP self‐renewal and apoptosis that allow more efficient expansion of SKPs. (Source: Cell Proliferation)
