Embracing A Theme
Great Event Themes Fully Executed Over the past couple of months I’ve had the pleasure of working with event planners who truly enacted the theme of their events! In Eastern North Carolina, Sherry Jones of Vidant Health organized a week-long Heart Truth Tour which took us to 7 different locations hosted by 8 different hospitals in the Vidant system.  At each hospital, the departments competed in a Red Dress Competition.  Each was give a Red Dress cut out to decorate.  They were tasked with including heart health messages in their designs.  The result: Fabulous. How Much Water Do You Need?
Ever wonder how much water you need each day? I’ll be sharing “Move Your Bootie” tips at the event today and we’ll be chatting about stress too!  (yes, the bowling ball and chainsaw traveled to Connecticut too). Were you at the event today?...

Do Something Just for You
When was the last time you took time just for yourself? In my women’s wellness keynote, I often ask the audience to think about the thing they used to do, that they liked so much, that they just don’t seem to have time for anymore. Think about it: When did you stop playing guitar, or singing? When did you stop knitting, or sewing? When did you stop going to girls’ night, or the coffee hour? When did you stop taking time to do things that bring you joy? Last night, even though I felt guilty leaving my family on a school night, I accepted an invitation to join a group of “Women with Guitars.”Â...

Are sweets really the problem? Lent can be a time to give up unhealthy habits, 0r take on healthy ones.  Any activity you can sustain for more than 21 days can become a lifelong habit – Lent is a great time to solidify a new habit (or break an unhealthy one).
