The NAD Sues Johnson City Medical Center
Today, Chris and Donna Cantrell filed a lawsuit against the Mountain States Health Alliance regarding its hospital Johnson City Medical Center (JCMC) in Johnson City, TN. The complaint alleges that JCMC refused to provide qualified sign language interpreters to allow the Cantrells to participate in their daughter’s medical care during a six-month period as she died of cancer and the Cantrells spent nearly every moment by her side. read more (Source: National Association of the Deaf)

Judgment Entered Against College In Discrimination Case Filed By Nursing Student Who Is Hard of Hearing
Toledo, Ohio – A federal judge has entered judgment against Terra State Community College in a case alleging that the College discriminated against a former nursing student Shirley Parrott-Copus in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. The Order requires the College to pay $75,000.00 to the former student, Shirley Parrott-Copus. read more (Source: National Association of the Deaf)
