How our practice improved efficiency and saved £15,000 a year
Dr Farzana Hussain, GP partner at The Project Surgery in Plaistow, east London, suddenly found herself with sole responsibility for over 4,700 patients when her GP partner and friend took his own life in 2013.  A difficult time for Dr Hussain and the practice, she was left as the only GP partner, creating a necessity for everyone to work more efficiently together. Practices paid just £13 per month per patient
GP practices were paid just£152 per patient last year, or£13 a month, according to the latest official data.  NHS Digital yesterday published the annual report on payments to general practice 2017/18.  It says that nationally the NHS paid on average£152.04 per registered patient. Four people taken to hospital after stabbing attack at GP practice
Four people were injured in a stabbing incident that took place on Wednesday morning at a GP surgery and a nearby health centre in East London.  A 40-year-old man was arrested inside the health centre on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, and taken to hospital suffering from a minor injury where he was treated and then discharged.  He is currently in custody at an east London police station. No charges have been made against the man as yet. Hide related content:  Show related contentread more (Source: Management in Practice)
