Nearly all patients reject registering with digital-first GP services, survey finds
The vast majority of patients do not want to register with a digital-first GP service, according to a survey by independent consumer body Which?.  The survey, of over 1,500 people, found 96% were unlikely to switch from their current practice to an online service in the next year.  Over half (52%) said they will definitely not change from their current GP, it reported.  The NHS long-term plan pledged to offer every patient in England the right to choose‘digital-first’ primary care over the next five years.Hide related content:  Show related contentread more (Source: Management in Practice)

Primary and community care staff shortages could undermine long term plan, think tank warns

Underfunding drives practices to stop providing non-core services

​Council's drastic public health cuts will leave practices'unable to cope '
Severe cuts across the board to public health services proposed by a Midlands council will see practices inundated with patients, as they will be expected to cover work previously performed by sexual health and alcohol and drug dependency services.  The major cut backs by Walsall Council are thought to be some of the most drastic yet, by a single council. Practices required to offer a quarter of appointments online by July

National GP Connect rollout to allow practices to share patient records by March
Practices across the country could be in a position to share GP records with secondary care providers as early as March, Management in Practice understands. GP Connect, an NHS Digital programme, allows clinical staff in primary, secondary and community care to access patients’ GP records across different IT systems. PHE heart age campaign regional pilot sent hundreds of patients to their GP

Six Liverpool practices threatened with closure following GP recruitment problems

Practices to get £5 extra per child vaccinated under new MMR catch-up scheme

Practices will not have guaranteed funding for extended hours access
