‘Inadequate’ practice urged to improve patient confidentiality
A GP practice in London is falling short on standards for safeguarding the privacy of its patients, according to the Care Quality Commission (CQC).  Dr Dauod Yosuf Abdulrahman Shantir’s surgery in Waltham Forest– Dr Shantir’s Practice– was given an overall rating of‘inadequate’ following a CQC inspection in November, with ineffective measures to protect patient privacy and confidentiality flagged as an area of concern. Hide related content:  Show related contentread more (Source: Management in Practice)

NHS England announces plans to recruit 1,000 social prescribing workers

GP practice told to pay double rent or lose premises

CCG may struggle to ‘pay its bills’ due to financial pressure of Babylon GP at Hand
The CCG hosting Babylon GP at Hand might not be able to ‘pay its bills’, due to finanicial pressures caused by tens of thousands of patients signing up to the digital-first NHS GP service.  NHS Hammersmith and Fulham CCG reported a£2.5m cash deficit, citing Babylon GP at Hand as the‘key driver’ of cashflow issues, and said the situation is‘expected to worsen in the near future’.  Currently, Babylon GP at Hand has around 34,000 patients, according to the CCG papers. Hide related content:  Show related contentread more (Source: Management in Practice)

GP practices can now order a single flu vaccine for all adults, says NHS England

Private online provider partners with GP networks covering 88,000 patients

Brexit: NHS EU staff to be reimbursed cost of settled status
