Effect of Nano-hydroxyapatite and platelet-rich fibrin covered by the amniotic membrane on osseointegration after mandibular piezoelectric ridge splitting
ConclusionsThe results of this study suggest that concomitant use of PRF with nHA graft covered with AM for augmentation around the dental implant in a narrow posterior mandible after piezoelectric alveolar ridge splitting accelerate osseointegration and significantly increase bone density around the osseointegrated implant and decrease bone resorption in comparison to that achieved with the graft alone. Push-out bond strength of fiberglass posts cemented with adhesive and self-adhesive resin cements according to the root canal surface
Conclusions: The bond strength of self-adhesive resin cements was significantly higher as compared to other cements. Besides the cervical third in roots cemented with conventional cements types presented the highest bond strength values (p<0.05). (Source: The Saudi Dental Journal)

Randomized clinical study comparing Piezoelectric Surgery with conventional rotatory osteotomy in mandibular third molars surgeries
ConclusionPiezoelectric surgery is considered a viable alternative technique compared to the conventional rotary systems and can improve a patient’s quality of life. Thus, piezoelectric surgery might be a preferred modality for patients undergoing complicated surgical extraction of impacted lower third molars. (Source: The Saudi Dental Journal)

Evaluation of the Airway Space Changes after Extraction of Four Second Premolars and Orthodontic Space Closure in Adult Female Patients with Bimaxillary Protrusion – A Retrospective Study
The objective of this study is to investigate the effects of second premolar extraction during orthodontic treatment on the dimensions of the upper airway in a sample of female adults.MethodsTwenty-nine female adult patients with ages between 18 and 30 years old and incisor bimaxillary protrusion were included in this study. They were treated with comprehensive orthodontic treatment which included the extraction of four second premolars. Pre and post cephalometric radiographs were analyzed using Dolphin imaging software for changes in tongue length and height, soft palate thickness and length, the superior, middle, and inf...

Quantitative and qualitative assessments of intraosseous neurovascular canals in dentate and posteriorly edentulous individuals in lateral maxillary sinus wall
Conclusion: This study reveals that dentate maxillary jaws present larger diameters as compared to posteriorly edentulous jaws, although the IA course remains the same. As these canal structures contain neurovascular bundles with diameters that may be large enough to cause clinically substantial complications, a thorough pre-surgical planning is therefore highly advisable.
