Clinically relevant improvements achieved from a facilitated implementation of a gestational diabetes model of care
ConclusionsThis project demonstrates a successful implementation using a facilitated and rigorous approach. Support, engagement and tools at many levels were keys to success at both sites. The present study illustrates the opportunities and challenges of conducting implementation research within routine clinical care, particularly in resource‐challenged sites. Development and validation of a written credentialing examination for overseas ‐educated dietitians
ConclusionsThe findings provide important data supporting the validity of the MCQ exam. A more complete evaluation of the validity of the exam must be sought within the context of the whole DSR program of assessment. The DSR written component may serve as a model for use of the MCQ format for dietetic and other professional credentialing organisations. (Source: Nutrition and Dietetics)

The relative validity of a food record using the smartphone application MyFitnessPal
ConclusionsMFP tends to underestimate ingestion of nutrients probably due to inadequacies in the MFP database. However, MFP showed good relative validity, especially for energy and fibre. Its use, as well as other similar applications, should be encouraged, due to ease of assessing dietary information, although careful usage is recommended because of database gaps. Association between dietary pattern scores and the prevalence of colorectal adenoma considering population subgroups
ConclusionsOf the three dietary factors, the ‘Western’ diet pattern was most strongly associated with prevalent CRA in Caucasian men. Further research is needed to examine the association between dietary factor scores and adenomas in the proximal colon, where there are larger racial disparities in prevalence. Nutritional screening and dietitian consultation rates in a geriatric evaluation and management unit
ConclusionsThe full benefits of nutritional screening by MNA‐SF may not be realised if it does not result in malnourished patients receiving a dietitian consultation. However, it is possible that enrichment of the foodservice with high protein/high‐energy options minimised patient weight loss in the GEMU. (Source: Nutrition and Dietetics)
