Study on nutritional monitoring of Persian malnourished school students: A check on reproducibility and validity of questionnaire
ConclusionsThe results showed reasonable validity, excellent reliability and moderate to substantial reproducibility for all scales of the questionnaire except two questions for κ statistics. The present study is of great importance, as there are no psychometrically evaluated tools (based on health behaviour models) with accepted validity and reliability for the evaluation of such factors in children with malnutrition. The questionnaire developed in the present study can be used to assess the effect of intervention among primary school students with malnutrition. (Source: Nutrition and Dietetics)

High nutrition risk is associated with higher risk of dysphagia in advanced age adults newly admitted to hospital
ConclusionsAmong newly hospitalised adults of advanced age, over two thirds were malnourished or at risk of malnutrition, and a third were at risk of dysphagia. Nutrition risk was positively correlated with low BMI and grip strength and negatively correlated with dysphagia risk. Findings highlight the importance of screening for dysphagia risk, especially in those identified to be malnourished or at nutrition risk. (Source: Nutrition and Dietetics)

Referrals to dietitians/nutritionists: A cross ‐sectional analysis of Australian GP registrars’ clinical practice
ConclusionsEstablished patients with chronic disease and complex care needs are more likely than other patients to be referred by registrars to dietitians/nutritionists. Nutrition behaviours are a major risk factor in chronic disease, and we have found evidence for dietitian/nutritionist referrals representing one facet of engagement by registrars with patients’ complex care needs. Is two days of intermittent energy restriction per week a feasible weight loss approach in obese males? A randomised pilot study
ConclusionsResults suggest that the 5:2 diet is a successful but not superior weight loss approach in male war veterans when compared to a SERD. Future research is needed to determine the long‐term effectiveness of the 5:2 diet and its effectiveness in other population groups. (Source: Nutrition and Dietetics)

Protein supplements and adolescent athletes: A pilot study investigating the risk knowledge, motivations and prevalence of use
ConclusionsThe evident lack of knowledge regarding protein supplements demonstrates a necessity for further education of athletes, coaches and families regarding the responsible purchasing and use of protein supplements in the current landscape of sports nutrition. Future research should further explore the role of the Internet in protein supplement purchase and education. (Source: Nutrition and Dietetics)
