Elastic Properties of Lithium Disilicate Versus Feldspathic Inlays: Effect on the Bonding by 3D Finite Element Analysis
ConclusionsThe elastic properties of ceramic materials were influenced by composition and processing methods, and these differences influenced the stress concentration at the bonding interface between tooth and restoration. The lower the elastic modulus of inlays, the lower is the stress concentration at the bonding interfaces. (Source: Journal of Prosthodontics)

Clinical Evaluation of Indirect Particle ‐Filled Composite Resin CAD/CAM Partial Crowns after 24 Months
ConclusionsThis study demonstrates particle ‐filled composite resin CAD/CAM restorations having a clinical success rate of 85.7% after 24 months. Adhesive bonding procedures need to be ensured carefully. A longer clinical evaluation period is necessary to draw further conclusions. (Source: Journal of Prosthodontics)

Evaluation of Cast Re ‐Orientation on a Dental Surveyor Using Three Tripod Techniques: A Survey and In Vitro Study
ConclusionsWithin the limitations of this study, it can be concluded that technique C (cemented post technique) was more favored among the respondents across all educational levels. This technique presented high potential in accurately reorienting casts on the dental surveyor in comparison to the tripod points and scoring techniques (p< 0.0001). Promise of Combining Antifungal Agents in Denture Adhesives to Fight Candida Species Infections
ConclusionsAntimicrobial peptides and antimicrobial lipids had diminished activities in 1% adhesive, suggesting that components in adhesives may inactivate local innate immune factors in the oral cavity, possibly predisposing denture wearers toCandida species infections. More importantly, antifungal agents retained their anti ‐C. albicans activities in denture adhesive, strongly suggesting that antifungal agents could be candidates for inclusion in adhesive formulations and used as prescribed topical treatments for individuals with denture stomatitis. Prosthodontic Rehabilitation for a Patient with Down Syndrome: A Clinical Report
This article presents the treatment of a 44‐year‐old male patient with Down syndrome and a modera te intellectual disability who presented with congenital and acquired tooth loss with significant occlusal discrepancies. The treatment included a prosthodontic approach that used a single dental implant, which will be described and illustrated in this article. (Source: Journal of Prosthodontics)

Comparing Fracture Resistance and the Time Required for Two Different Fiber Post Removal Systems
ConclusionCompared to the removal kit, removal of the fiber posts with an ultrasonic tip decreases the fracture resistance of the roots, although significantly more time is required. (Source: Journal of Prosthodontics)

The Effect of Silica and Prepolymer Nanoparticles on the Mechanical Properties of Denture Base Acrylic Resin
ConclusionsBoth the silica and prepolymer incorporation into acrylic resin adversely affected the flexural strength of the acrylic resin compared to control group. In all concentrations, prepolymer incorporation resulted in increased flexural strength of acrylic resins compared to silica addition. The greater concentrations of the fillers resulted in increased mechanical properties of the acrylic resin. (Source: Journal of Prosthodontics)

Polyetheretherketone Overlay Prosthesis over High Noble Ball Attachments to Overcome Base Metal Sensitivity: A Clinical Report
AbstractA modified polyetheretherketone (PEEK) framework material in combination with heat ‐polymerized denture base acrylic resin was used for the fabrication of an overlay prosthesis for a patient sensitive to base metals. High noble metal was used for the fabrication of the post/coping/ball attachment assemblies to promote retention and stability. These protruding attachments into th e acrylic resin could result in stress concentration; therefore, a framework is often used to strengthen the prosthesis. PEEK frameworks could be a treatment alternative to high noble or Ti frameworks since they combine good mechanical pr...

Clinical Study of the 3D ‐Master Color System among the Spanish Population
ConclusionsThe results of this study indicated that 75 shades in the 3D ‐Master System were grouped into 5 clusters following coordinates L*, C*, and h* resulting from the dental spectrophotometer Vita Easyshade compact. The shades that composed each cluster did not belong to the same lightness color dimension groups. There was no special uniform chromatic distributio n among the colors of the 3D‐Master System. Bicuspid Axial Wall Height Effect on CAD/CAM Crown Fracture Mode on Preparations Containing Advanced Total Occlusal Convergence
ConclusionsFurther evidence is provided that CAD/CAM adhesive techniques may compensate for less than ideal preparation features. Under the conditions of this study, bicuspid preparations with a 20 ° TOC restored with adhesively luted, CAD/CAM e.max CAD crowns require at least 2 mm of axial wall height, but further planned fatigue studies are necessary before definitive recommendations can be made.
