A Simple Technique for Placing Extraoral Implants at an Optimal Position in Orbital Defects
AbstractTranslucent acrylic templates have been used to indicate implant positions for implant ‐retained extraoral prostheses; however, this procedure can be challenging, as the acrylic templates have to be positioned onto reflected skin flaps. The fabrication of an acrylic‐based colorless template or duplicating an existing prosthesis can facilitate the location of extraoral implants. Fabrication Method for a Mounting Jig and Cast Support for Mounting Complete Dentures
AbstractIn complete denture fabrication, the definitive maxillary cast is mounted on an articulator using a facebow transfer or mounting jig, and the mandibular cast is mounted using an interocclusal record. ConclusionsWithin the limitations of the study, Locator attachments demonstrated lesser and more homogenous stress distribution in the implant ‐overdenture complex in comparison to ball attachments. The stresses generated within the tissues increase with an increase in collar height of the attachment system and therefore, attachments should be as short as possible for more favorable stress transmission. Insertion Torque of Variable ‐Thread Tapered Implants in the Posterior Maxilla: A Clinical Study
ConclusionsITVs of variable ‐thread implants were significantly influenced by variations in bone quality and implant position in the posterior maxilla. Despite the influence of bone quality on primary stability, the mean ITVs attained with variable‐thread tapered implants in poor bone quality were within the recommended ra nge for immediate loading.
