Coronary Procedures After TAVI With the Self ‐Expanding Aortic Bioprosthesis Medtronic CoreValve™, Not an Easy Matter
ConclusionCoronary procedures after CoreValve™ TAVI are feasible, but challenging. This problem is currently rare but will be more common as the indications of TAVI are expanded to younger patients with longer life expectancies. Recommendations for post‐TAVI coronary procedures are needed, particularly for centers unfamiliar with the management of post‐TAVI patients. (Source: Journal of Interventional Cardiology)

Impact of Calcified Target Lesions on the Outcome of Percutaneous Coronary Intervention for Acute Coronary Syndrome: Insights From the BASE ACS Trial
ConclusionsPatients presenting with acute coronary syndrome who were treated for calcified lesions had worse long‐term clinical outcome, compared with those treated for non‐calcified lesions, mainly due to more frequent safety events. In the propensity score‐matched analysis, the outcome was comparable. (Source: Journal of Interventional Cardiology)

Effectiveness of Handmade “Jacky‐Like Catheter” As a Single Multipurpose Catheter in Transradial Coronary Angiography: A Randomized Comparison With Conventional Two‐Catheter Strategy
ConclusionIn transradial procedures from RRA, a JLC catheter can be very effective when dedicated dual‐purpose catheter is not available. (Source: Journal of Interventional Cardiology)

Percutaneous Coronary Intervention of Complex Calcified Lesions With Drug ‐Coated Balloon After Rotational Atherectomy
ConclusionsThis is the first study to show that PCI using DCB after preparation of calcified lesions with rotablation is safe and effective. This novel strategy may be considered especially in patients with a bleeding risk such as those using an oral anticoagulant. (Source: Journal of Interventional Cardiology)

Echocardiographic Estimates of Left Ventricular Diastolic Dysfunction Do Not Predict the Clinical Course in Elderly Patients Undergoing Transcatheter Atrial Septal Defect Closure: Impact of Early Diastolic Mitral Annular Velocity
ConclusionsOur findings suggest that transcatheter ASD closure under volume management is safe and valuable in elderly patients with echocardiographic severe LV diastolic dysfunction. (Source: Journal of Interventional Cardiology)
