Repeated MitraClip procedure in patients with recurrent MR after a successful first procedure: Limitations and outcome
ConclusionA ReClip procedure may be feasible in patients with recurrent MR but the risk benefit ratio should be carefully balanced against other treatment options. (Source: Journal of Interventional Cardiology)

Is hypertension the fate of aortic coarctation patients treated with Cheatham Platinum (CP) stent?
ConclusionsIt was shown that hypertension incidence as demonstrated by ambulatory blood pressure monitorization and risk for cardiovascular diseases as indicated by CIM thickness and Pulse wave velocity were higher than those in healthy population even after CoA is corrected. Vascular complications after percutaneous mitral valve repair and venous access closure using suture or closure device
ConclusionBoth Z‐suture and closure device use after percutaneous mitral valve repair are feasible and safe. However, there is no benefit of one strategy over the other according to VARC2 major and minor complications. (Source: Journal of Interventional Cardiology)

A “Jail Escape Technique” (JET) for distal side branch wiring during provisional stenting: Feasibility and first‐in‐man study
ConclusionThe “JET” enables distal SB access and eliminates strut malapposition at the carina. Further studies with larger numbers of patients are needed to further investigate this technique. (Source: Journal of Interventional Cardiology)

Percutaneous repair of severe mitral valve regurgitation secondary to chordae rupture in octogenarians using MitraClip
ConclusionsPercutaneous repair of chordae rupture is feasible and safe in high‐risk octogenarians. The MitraClip should be considered to repair severe mitral valve regurgitation due to mitral valve chordae rupture in high‐risk octogenarians after interdisciplinary discussion even facing a challenging anatomy. Effectiveness of a handmade “New Carotid Catheter” in transradial carotid angiography: A comparison with conventional multipurpose catheters
ConclusionTransradial carotid angiography can be performed using our newly developed carotid catheter. The carotid arteries of patients with widespread coronary artery disease can be visualized, while asymptomatic patients carrying a high risk of stroke can be treated, preventing potential stroke occurrence. In a larger‐scale comparative study, the favorable contributions of routine use of the new method and a decreased frequency of stroke may be demonstrated. Effect of sex difference in clinical presentation (stable coronary artery disease vs unstable angina pectoris or non ‐ST‐elevation myocardial infarction vs ST‐elevation myocardial infarction) on 2‐year outcomes in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention
ConclusionAmong STEMI patients, women had worse 2‐year mortality after PCI therapy, but female sex was not an independent predictor of mortality after adjustment for baseline characteristics. In STEMI patients, women were at higher bleeding risk than men after PCI, even after multivariable adjustment. (Source: Journal of Interventional Cardiology)

Comparison of transcatheter aortic valve replacement risk score against currently accepted surgical risk models as predictors of 30 ‐day mortality in transcatheter aortic valve replacement
ConclusionsThe TAVR‐RS was a better predictor of both group and individual mortality at 30 days. The outcomes were comparable on pairwise testing against surgical risk models, although TAVR‐RS was on verge of significance when compared to STS PROM. This study supports the current dogma that a risk model specifically tailored for TAVR population should be implemented to obtain a better patient selection. Percutaneous pulmonary valve implantation for reconstruction of a patch ‐repaired right ventricular outflow tract
Percutaneous pulmonary valve implantation (PPVI) is nowadays an accepted treatment option to repair post‐surgical conduit dysfunction of the right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT). In addition, many patients need a pulmonary valve to reconstruct a hemodynamically incompetent native or conduit free outflow tract. Based on our experience with percutaneous stent‐valve placement in a cohort of 125 patients, we report here transvenous reconstruction of a conduit‐free, patch repaired outflow tract by utilizing balloon‐expandable stent‐valves in 23 patients with a median age of 22 years (5‐60 years). In 20 patients, t...
