Validation of a tool for reporting pharmacists' interventions in everyday community pharmacy
This study aimed to develop and validate a tool for the routine reporting of pharmacists' interventions in French community settings. MethodsTwo groups of community pharmacists coded reports of 60 typical pharmacists' interventions. One group was “experts” (n = 4) who had participated in the development of the tool (internal validation) and the other were “external” community pharmacists (n = 6), naïve to the tool (external validation). The Kappa coefficient was used to assess the inter‐reliability of classification between participants. A 4‐level Likert scale was used to evaluate ease of use and acceptabi...

Risk of tuberculosis comparison in new users of antitumour necrosis factor ‐α and with existing disease‐modifying antirheumatic drug therapy
We examined the incidence of active tuberculosis (TB) and its risk factors in patients with rheumatic disease started with anti‐TNF‐α therapy or with existing disease‐modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) therapy. MethodsA retrospective cohort study of anti‐TNF‐α therapy new users (anti‐TNF‐α group) and those starting with a DMARD after the failure of at least one other DMARD or who had added to existing DMARD treatment (DMARD group) for rheumatic disease in the largest medical setting in Taiwan from 1 January 2005 through 31 November 2013 was conducted to determine relative risk of TB between patient group...

Leukotriene receptor antagonism may not be effective in atopic dermatitis treatment after all
ConclusionCurrent literature evidence is limited to rationally support the use of montelukast in atopic dermatitis treatment. For now, the conventional treatments should be preferred in the clinical setting. (Source: Journal of Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics)

Effects of dopamine receptor antagonist antipsychotic therapy on blood pressure
ConclusionBased upon this review, individuals on antipsychotic agents, particularly clozapine, should be routinely monitored for hypertension, and addition of antihypertensive agents such as angiotensin‐converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors or angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) is indicated if hypertension occurs. Dopamine receptors play a role in blood pressure regulation. The objective of this review is to investigate the association between dopamine antagonist use and hypertension. Based upon this review, individuals on antipsychotic agents, particularly clozapine, should have blood pressure routinely monitored, and a...
