Invasive community-acquired methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (CA-MRSA) infection in children: Case series and literature review
We report these case series to outline the spectrum of invasive CA-MRSA diseases and to demonstrate clinical outcome. Early proper intervention with regular revisiting the empirical treatment based on local susceptibility data is crucial. Assessment of physical and psychosocial status of children with ESRD under regular hemodialysis, a single centre experience
Conclusion Common adverse effects of ESRD and hemodialysis in our center are inadequate nutritional status, abnormal sleep patterns, decreased physical activity, low school achievement, and psychosocial deterioration. Recommendations Great efforts on the part of parents, pediatric nephrologists, nurses, psychologist, and school teachers are needed to improve the physical and psychosocial health of dialysis patients and thereby improve their quality of life. Patterns of microbial growth in urine cultures in a pediatric hematology/oncology unit over a one-year period: A single institution study
Conclusions Positive urine culture in children with cancer may not be associated with urinalysis abnormalities, particularly in patients with neutropenia. When selecting empiric treatment for cancer patients with UTIs, one should take into consideration the institutional patterns for resistance and use of prophylactic antibiotics. Experience with second line drugs in frequently relapsing and steroid dependent childhood nephrotic syndrome in a large Saudi center

Tertiary center experience with primary endoscopic laryngoplasty in pediatric acquired subglottic stenosis and literature review
Conclusion Our study showed that primary endoscopic management was successful in 82.3% of cases of acquired subglottic stenosis including those with high grade stenosis and long segment of more than 12 mm in terms of the craniocaudal length. CO2 laser was an important tool to convert mature hard stenotic segment into a soft one. The latter yielded to the lateral pressure created by balloon dilatation better. Prevalence of celiac disease in Saudi children with Down syndrome: A retrospective study
