Disparities in multimorbidity across Europe  – Findings from the SHARE Survey
Conclusion Multimorbidity is highly prevalent among older Europeans, but more so among Europeans in the Eastern and Central regions. Societal initiatives to improve health care for older adults are warranted in order to decrease old age health inequalities between Europeans regions, where Central and Eastern European regions seem to suffer more from the burden of multimorbidity. Balancing risks for older kidney transplant recipients in the contemporary era: A single-centre observational study
Conclusions Older kidney transplant recipients have increased risk for immunosuppression-related complications (contributing to increased mortality) but rejection rates and death-censored graft losses are similar. Clinical trials for age-adapted immunosuppression are warranted for older adults but require balancing risks for cancer and rejection to achieve optimal long-term clinical outcomes. Unsuspected vertebral fracture in older women undergoing screening bone mineral density assessment: Prevalence, impact, and agreement with lateral spine radiography
Conclusions The prevalence of unsuspected vertebral fracture as defined by VFA was significant in women aged≥60 years referred for screening DXA. By showing vertebral fractures in low-risk non-osteoporotic subjects, VFA appeared to have clinical impact. Its agreement with radiographs for the detection of vertebral fracture was moderate to good. (Source: European Geriatric Medicine)

A comparative study of the use of three cognitive function screening tests on rehabilitation wards for older people
Conclusion Although the MMSE, CLOX and sFLA assess different aspects of cognition, there seems little benefit of one test over another. Over reliance on these tests alone, to determine the likely outcome of rehabilitation is unjustified and patients should not be denied rehabilitation just because they may be abnormal. Effect of pelvic tilt exercise using pressure-based visual biofeedback training on the gait parameter in elderly patients with Alzheimer's disease
Conclusions Overall, the pelvic tilt exercise using PVFT improved gait speed, stride length, and pelvic tilt range after the intervention. These findings suggest that the pelvic tilt exercise with PVFT can be an effective training method with specific and simple techniques for improving gait disturbances in older adults with AD. The older motorcyclist
Conclusions Motorcyclists are getting older. The nature of motorcycling is changing and for many, especially older riders, it is primarily a leisure pursuit. In general, older motorcyclists are safer riders but in recent years, there has been an inordinate rise in fatalities and injuries affecting older motorcyclists. Training and safety initiatives for older motorcyclists and returning riders may be effective in reducing injuries and fatalities. (Source: European Geriatric Medicine)
