Perception of health-related quality of life using the EURO-QOL in older adults in Bogot á, Colombia
Conclusions In our study, debilitating and highly symptomatic diseases like JD, COPD and cognitive impairment significantly increase the odds of poor HRQOL. Anemia prevalence and hematologic findings in German geriatric inpatients – results of the prospective cross-sectional multicenter study “GeriAnaemie 2013”
Conclusion Anemia was mainly normocytic, mild and highly prevalent in this patient cohort, could not always be specified; multicausality was supposed; MCV appeared to be inappropriate for pathogenetical assignment of anemia subtypes in older patients. Quality of life and associated factors in older people with dementia living in long-term institutional care and home care
Conclusions Low depressive and neuropsychiatric symptoms were independently associated with better self-reported QoL. On the other hand, low comorbidity, better functional status and low depressive symptoms were independently associated with QoL reported by the informer caregivers. Polypharmacy in the elderly: A population based cross-sectional study in Lazio, Italy
Conclusion In Lazio, polypharmacy is an important phenomenon in the elderly population. Female gender, older ages and presence of chronic diseases are related to multiple drug use. The present results offer a useful tool for future initiatives aiming at reducing inappropriate polypharmacy and target interventions to subpopulations at higher risk of being exposed to polypharmacy.
