The effects of radial bowing and complications in intramedullary nail fixation of adult forearm fractures.
CONCLUSION: Intramedullary nail application may be an appropriate treatment alternative in forearm fractures with their high healing rates; however, synostosis may arise with its use in wedge fractures (AO/OTA type B3) at the same level. Although radial bowing changes do not have a significant effect on ranges of motion of the forearm, it should be kept in mind that fracture healing may be affected adversely in patients with radial bowing changes of high rates. Complications regarding extensor pollicis longus tendon may develop during intra- or postoperative periods in patients for which a radius nail has been applied.

Evaluation of proximal femoral nail-antirotation and cemented, bipolar hemiarthroplasty with calcar replacement in treatment of intertrochanteric femoral fractures in terms of mortality and morbidity ratios.
CONCLUSION: Both PFNA and cemented, bipolar hemiarthroplasty with calcar replacement are good techniques in treatment of intertrochanteric femoral fractures. Internal fixation may be more appropriate for elderly patients due to shorter duration of operation and lower risk of reoperation.

Localized pigmented villonodular synovitis in a child knee.

Abstract
Pigmented villonodular synovitis is a benign proliferative tumor of the synovium. It is very rare, and most cases occur in the knee joint. In this article, we report a case of localized pigmented villonodular synovitis in the knee joint of a 14-year-old boy. This condition is rare in the knees of the children. We preferred to remove the tumor with arthrotomy instead of arthroscopy for two reasons: (i) the patient was obese, (ii) we thought that recurrence risk was high after arthrotomy.

[Gluteal compartment syndrome developing after nephrectomy and incisional hernia surgery].

Abstract
Gluteal compartment syndrome is a rather rare syndrome often leading to severe sequelae, sepsis, renal failure, and even death due to delayed diagnosis. Establishing early diagnosis is essential to prevent complications associated with ischemia. In this article, we report a 56-year-old male patient who developed gluteal compartment syndrome after incisional hernia and nephrectomy surgery in lateral decubitus position. Gluteal muscle insufficiency developing after fasciotomy and Trendelenburg gait improved within two years.

Attritional rupture of the extensor pollicis longus tendon due to calcified extensor carpi radialis tendon group: a case report.

Abstract
In this article, we report a case with spontaneous rupture of extensor pollicis longus tendon due to calcified extensor carpi radialis tendon group, which has not been published in the literature previously. Successful thumb extension was achieved in a 68-year-old male patient with the transfer of the extensor indicis proprius tendon at two months postoperatively. It appears that calcified extensor carpi radialis tendon group constitutes high risk for a possible attritional rupture of the extensor pollicis longus tendon.

Is intramedullary nailing applicable for distal tibial fractures with ankle joint extension?
CONCLUSION: Intramedullary nailing is not contraindicated for simple intra-articular distal tibial fractures. In these fractures, intramedullary nailing performed in accordance with its technique, with an additional percutaneous screw if necessary, is a successful treatment option with high fracture union rates, high functional results, and low complication rates.

Arthroscopic limited intercarpal fusion without bone graft in patients with Kienb öck's disease.
CONCLUSION: According to our study findings, arthroscopic limited intercarpal fusion without using bone graft may be performed in patients with Kienböck's disease. Satisfactory clinical and functional results were obtained as a result of treatment with this method in stage 3 and 4 Kienböck's disease.

Biomechanical comparison of pullout strengths of five cortical screw types: An innovative measurement method.
CONCLUSION: This novel approach showed that a screw type that appeared to show average performance, in fact, did not have statistically significantly different results than the top performers. Surgeons are not required to prefer larger dimension screws in small dimension host bones.

Risk factors for contralateral hip fractures following femoral neck fractures in elderly: analysis of the Hungarian nationwide health insurance database.
CONCLUSION: Identification of high-risk groups for second hip fractures is needed to establish effective prevention strategies. Our study demonstrates that the risk of suffering from second hip fractures is higher in females, elderly population, those living in the capital, and patients having undergone arthroplasty.
