Early detection of kidney dysfunction in Egyptian patients with beta-thalassemia major
Conclusion Our data confirm that glomerular and tubular dysfunctions exist in children with beta-thalassemia major. As renal dysfunction may not be detected by routine tests, use of early markers is recommended. Urinary NAG excretion can be considered a reliable index of the tubular toxicity and a possible predictor of proteinuria so it is recommended be evaluated in beta-thalassemia patients. Conclusion There was high incidence of hyperglycemia in VLBW (66.7%). Conclusion ETN treatment of JIA children and adolescents demonstrated safety and efficacy in clinical improvement of DAS28-ESR score at 3 and 6months of treatment. Conclusion The present study showed a high percent of overweight, obese and skinny subjects among Egyptian children. This abnormal increase or decrease in body weight affects negatively the levels of children’s physical fitness.
