Outcomes of facial artery musculomucosal flap for closure of small and medium sized fistula after clefts
Conclusion FAMM flap is appropriate for reconstruction of small and medium sized fistula because of its reliability and versatility. The flap presents few complications and ensures adequate functional results after palatal fistula repair because of its nearly the same tissue like the palatal tissue. Debridement of facial necrotizing fasciitis via bicoronal flap
We present a case of an extensive facial necrotizing fasciitis that require a bicoronal flap incision with a modified drainage technique using a nasogastric tube for dressing. Noise-induced hearing loss in grass-trimming workers
Conclusion It is warranted to give continuing education on the grass-trimming workers about the risk and how to protect them from noise-induced hearing loss. While the diagnosis should be made in the presence of exposure, the possibility of noise-induced hearing loss is highest when the dip occurs at 3 kHz followed by 4 and 6 kHz. Quality of life in head and neck cancer: Patients ’ and family caregivers’ perceptions
Conclusions Both patients and caregivers agreed in the perception of patients’ quality of life. This final outcome supports the use of the questionnaires. The only domain that differed was the anxiety domain. The concept of anxiety may be more difficult to define due to its heterogeneity. Moreover in the EQ-5D-5L questionnaire anxiety is put together with depression, which probably is a more complex concept to look at. Effectiveness and safety of cefpodoxime in upper respiratory tract infections in adult Egyptian population a report from the Egyptian STAR registry
Conclusions High cure rates for acute maxillary sinusitis and acute tonsilopharyngitis, and a favorable safety and tolerability profile were noted following treatment with cefpodoxime. Post operative palatal cleft with synechia of tonsillar pillar and uvula – Could vascular ischemia be the etiology?
We present a post operative case of nasopharyngeal angiofibroma who presented with nasal twang in voice. Examination revealed cleft of soft palate with fusion of left side of uvula with the left tonsillar pillar. He underwent reconstruction of the left tonsillar pillar, left side of uvula and pushback palatoplasty. Perceptual Visual Skills in Delayed Language Developed Children
Conclusion Reading disorders that may develop in children with DLD are more related to language than to visual skills. DLD has some strong perceptual skills such as visual closure and visual memory. Spontaneous rupture of giant cervical lymphangioma in paediatric: A therapeutic dilemma
We report a case of a three-year old girl presented initially with an infected giant multicystic cervical lymphangioma which subsequently ruptured spontaneously. We attempted initial compression bandage, however converted into complete surgical excision as the leak continued. It was a successful operation without recurrence. Migrated prawn tail presenting as neck swelling
In conclusion, accidental foreign body ingestion is not uncommon among adults. It is very important to elicit history of foreign body ingestion even in a patient presenting with neck swelling. Besides, oral and neck examination, other investigation modalities such as plain neck radiograph, ultrasonography or computed tomography scan can confirm the diagnosis of migrating foreign bodies and appropriate treatment can be instituted. Unusual cause acute airway obstruction
