The additional effect of granisteron over propofol and sevoflurane on prophylaxis of vomiting after pediatric adenotonsillectomy
Conclusions On performing adenotonsillectomy in children, the incidence of postoperative vomiting is lower with (i.v. anesthetics) propofol than (volatile anesthetics) sevoflurane. Use of granisteron significantly reduces the incidence of postoperative vomiting in children undergoing this procedure. (Source: Egyptian Journal of Ear, Nose, Throat and Allied Sciences)

The bacterial etiology of otitis media and their antibiogram among children in Gaza Strip, Palestine
Conclusion Low levels of resistance were found among most clinical isolates in general to the commonly used antibiotics, however, an increased frequency of MRSA was detected. Public awareness should be promoted to reduce risk factors associated with otitis media and empirical treatment protocols should be reviewed. Comparison of findings of awake and induced sleep fiberoptic nasoendoscopy in cases of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea
Conclusion The drug induced sleep endoscopy was more accurate than the Müller maneuver in assessing the shape of obstruction at the retropalatal and the oropharyngeal level, while it was the same as the Müller maneuver in assessing the degree of obstruction at retropalatal, oropharyngeal and hypopharyngeal levels. Extra nodal ENT tuberculosis
Conclusion There are no pathognomonic features indicative of this disease. It is important for otolaryngologists to mention TB as a differential diagnosis in head and neck malignancies and other chronic non infective and infective pathological conditions. Fibrosarcoma of the nasal cavity: A case report
We report the case of a 37-year-old man with a 3-month history of recurrent epistaxis and nasal obstruction. Nasal endoscopy confirmed a right nasal neoplasia. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance image showed the tumor. TEP scan showed no metastasis. Complete removal was achieved through a combined surgery, by endoscopic endonasal approach and by incision in the right upper oral vestibule. Fibrosarcoma was found on histopathologic and immunohistochemistric examinations. After 12months, the postoperative course was uneventful and follow-up information showed no recurrence of metastasis. However, in the 13th month, th...

Large cystic lymphangioma of the parotid gland in the adult
We report and discuss the case of a large CL of the parotid gland in a 66-year-old woman. On computed tomography (CT) the tumor appeared as a large, well defined, unilocular cyst of the parotid region. The lesion was surgically removed and the diagnosis was confirmed on postoperative histology. CL of the parotid gland in adults presents difficult challenges to the surgeon for both differential diagnosis of parotid masses and treatment. Surgery remains the treatment of choice despite its difficulty due to the infiltrating character of the lesion. Sclerotherapy is an alternative in macrocystic type when surgical management i...
