Clinical Perspective on Antihypertensive Drug Treatment in Adults With Grade 1 Hypertension and Low-to-Moderate Cardiovascular Risk: An International Expert Consultation
Hypertension is a leading risk factor for disease burden globally. An unresolved question is whether grade 1 hypertension (140-159/90-99mmHg) with low (cardiovascular mortality (Source: Current Problems in Cardiology)

How Low is Too High? At What Value Should We Start Treating Hypertension?
Hypertension (HTN) has long been described as a silent killer and is the leading cause of myocardial infarction (MI), strokes, and death globally.1 Oftentimes, the presenting signs of HTN are an MI or stroke that may have been prevented with adequate treatment. For this reason, screening for HTN has become routine in clinical practice. Through screening many individuals with borderline abnormal blood pressures (BP) are identified. While there is no doubt that treatment of HTN prevents cardiovascular (CV) events, the benefits of treatment at lower, borderline BP levels remains unclear. (Source: Current Problems in Cardiology)

Foreword
In ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) ischemic time is directly related to permanent myocardial damage and mortality. Therefore, it is crucial to restore myocardial perfusion rapidly. Door to balloon (DTB) time is defined as the duration between the arrival time of the patient to the medical facility until the time he/she is treated with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Currently, DTB is the criterion that measures the quality of care provided to patients with STEMI at any given institution. (Source: Current Problems in Cardiology)
