Vascular and Chronological Age in Subjects with Erectile Dysfunction: A Cross‐Sectional Study
ConclusionsIn subjects referring for ED without a personal history of CV events, Δage is associated with an adverse cardio‐metabolic profile and worse penile color Doppler ultrasound parameters. Δage provides a simple method for identifying high‐risk men that must undergo significant modification in their lifestyle and risk factors. In addition, it can be considered a simple, inexpensive, and safe surrogate marker of penile arterial damage. Rastrelli G, Corona G, Mannucci E, and Maggi M. Sexual Function and Pessary Management among Women Using a Pessary for Pelvic Floor Disorders
ConclusionMany women remove their pessary during sex for partner considerations, and increased partner concerns are the only change seen in sexual function in the first 3 months of pessary use. Pessary use may improve self‐consciousness and pessary satisfaction is associated with improvements in sexual function and body image. Discussing Sexual Dysfunction with Chronic Kidney Disease Patients: Practice Patterns in the Office of the Nephrologist
ConclusionsDutch nephrologists do not discuss problems with sexual function routinely. The lack of knowledge, suitable education, and insufficient time are factors causing undervaluation of SD in CKD patients. Implementation of competent sexual education and raising awareness among nephrologists on the importance of paying attention to SD could improve care and QoL for patients with CKD. More research should be performed among patients and other renal care providers to develop an adequate method to enhance our current system. van Ek GF, Krouwel EM, Nicolai MP, Bouwsma H, Ringers J, Putter H, Pelger RCM, and Elzevier HW. The Clitoral Photoplethysmograph: A Pilot Study Examining Discriminant and Convergent Validity
ConclusionCBV may be a valid measure of women's genital sexual arousal that provides complementary information to VPA and correlates with self‐reported sexual arousal. Given our relatively small sample size, and that this is among the first research to use the CPP, the current findings must be replicated. More research using the CPP and other devices is required for a more comprehensive description of women's physiological sexual arousal. Sexually Transmitted Infections and First Sexual Intercourse Age in Adolescents: The Nationwide Retrospective Cross‐Sectional Study
ConclusionsThis study shows that earlier initiation of sexual intercourse increases the odds of experiencing STIs. Also as the age gap gets shorter, the odds of experiencing STIs increase. Our study suggests that it is important to consider the time period of first sexual intercourse and to reinforce a monitoring system along with the development of other preventive strategies.
