Inverted papilloma presenting as unilateral proptosis: A case report with review of literature
We report a case of extensive inverted papilloma of frontal sinus which primarily presented with proptosis, an uncommon presentation. Ophthalmologic symptoms are rare manifestations of paranasal sinus inverted papilloma without malignant transformation and signify extensive disease with possible intracranial extension. Successful Treatment of Corneal Opacification with Associated Thickened Epithelium by Simple Peeling: Acquired Corneal Subepithelial Hypertrophy (ACSH)
ConclusionsMeticulous SL examination aided by corneal imaging may accurately diagnose and determine the depth of corneal opacification as a cause for reduced vision. Histopathologically, the removed tissue is similar to PHSCD, but cases differ in their clinical profile. Peeling the thickened epithelial/subepithelial tissue is curative in most patients, improves visual and clinical outcome and avoids unnecessary corneal grafting. Unilateral retrobulbar hemorrhage immediately after bilateral strabismus surgery
We report a case of immediate unilateral retrobulbar hemorrhage in a child after strabismus surgery. The case was managed with urgent canthotomy and cantholysis to avoid excessive tension over ocular and periocular structures including the optic nerve. (Source: Saudi Journal of Ophthalmology)

Burnout During Ophthalmology Residency Training: A National Survey in Saudi Arabia
ConclusionsPrevalence of burnout among ophthalmology residents was lower when compared to plastic surgery and otolaryngology residents in Saudi Arabia. Work hours and on call days were associated with higher burnout. Actions must be taken to ensure that all training programs implement work hour limitations. Special attention should be given to the Southern region program due to its significantly higher levels of burnout. (Source: Saudi Journal of Ophthalmology)

Primary dedifferentiated liposarcoma of the orbit, a rare entity: Case report and review of literature
We presented a case of DDL arising in the the left orbit (fourth case of primary orbital DDL described), free from disease after 5-year follow-up. Clinical history, treatment, and characteristics of the presented case were described and discussed in the light of how reported in the literature, in the attempt to bring further insight in the nature and management of this rare pathological entity. Manifestations of ocular rosacea in females with dark skin types
ConclusionOcular rosacea in dark skinned females is a common presentation and is comparable to that reported for fair skin, with eyelid telangiectasia and meibomian gland dysfunction being early phenomena. Earlier onset and more benign course were seen compared to other studies. Ocular and cutaneous rosacea are independent of each other. (Source: Saudi Journal of Ophthalmology)

Scleral buckle induce obital cellulitis and scleritis – A case report and literature review
We report a case of a young healthy patient who developed orbital cellulitis and scleritis after retinal detachment surgery that was repaired with a scleral buckling procedure. Once scleral implant infection occurs, orbital infection results requiring removal of the implant in all previous reported cases. However, our patient was treated with systemic antibiotic and steroids without the need for removal of the scleral buckle. (Source: Saudi Journal of Ophthalmology)

Publication date: Available online 17 December 2018Source: Saudi Journal of OphthalmologyAuthor(s): Maria Araújo, Tânia Borges, Yolanda Mahia, Vânia Lages, António PereiraAbstractThe solitary fibrous tumor (STF) is a rare spindle cell tumor that most often occurs in the pleura, mediastinum and other serosal sites, but it can be found anywhere. The authors present a case report of a 35-year-old male who was submitted to an eventless left external dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) due to epiphora. During the surgery no tumors or anomalous tissues were visualized. Five months later the patient presented a painless mass at the l...
