Cervical osteoblastoma: a case report
This report describes the case of a 19-year-old boy who presented severe right-sided neck and shoulder pain. The CT scan revealed a mass lesion on C7 compatible with osteoblastoma. Pre-operative embolization and tumor resection were performed. At the three-year follow-up, the patient had no restrictions on daily activities, and to date there has been no evidence of recurrence.

Accuracy of the kissing sign on lumbar spine MRI in cases of axillary disc herniation and the surgical correlation: an Indian multi-center study
ConclusionThe type of disc herniation is an important parameter for patient selection in different surgical approaches. The kissing sign on MRI can be considered as an important tool for diagnosing axillary disc herniation due to its high specificity and accuracy.

Thick graft vs. double-bundle technique on posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction: experimental biomechanical study with cadavers
ConclusionsGraft enlargement improves knee stability in isolated PCL reconstructions, whereas the graft division in the two-bundle technique worsens this stability at 60° and 90° of knee flexion. The findings of this study suggest that knee stability in PCL reconstructions may be improved with the use of thicker grafts in a single-bundle technique rather than performing a double-bundle reconstruction.

Asian ethnicity: a risk factor for adhesive capsulitis?
ConclusionPatients of Asian ethnicity showed an independent risk factor for the development of adhesive capsulitis, with an adjusted odds ratio of 3.6. Adhesive capsulitis was more common between 55 and 64 years.

Evaluation of the discal height gain and lumbar lordosis variation obtained by the techniques of transforaminal and posterior lumbar intersomatic fusion
ConclusionThere is no difference in the discal height gain and lumbar lordosis variation, as well as in the pain intensity in the post-operatory periods, in patients who underwent 1 level intersomatic arthrodesis when comparing the PLIF and TLIF techniques.

Correlation between the UCLA and Constant-Murley scores in rotator cuff repairs and proximal humeral fractures osteosynthesis
ConclusionThe UCLA and Constant-Murley scores presented high or very high correlation in the evaluation of surgical treatment of rotator cuff tears and PHF. The correlation in the preoperative evaluation was high. Evaluation of benefits and accuracy of a mobile application in planning total knee arthroplasties
ConclusionsThe application has proved to be useful in planning TKAs and has revealed accuracy when measuring the AMFA when it was compared to the manual form of preoperative planning. The application was able to reduce planning time by more than half and it demonstrated reliability in measuring the AMFA.ResumoObjetivoAvaliar a utilidade de aplicativo no planejamento de artroplastias totais do joelho (ATJ), além da acurácia em relação à aferição do ângulo anatômico-mecânico femoral (AAMF), e comparar o tempo dispendido no planejamento de ATJ através da forma manual e do aplicativo.MétodosUma equipe interdiscipli...

Comparative analysis of quadriceps and hamstrings strength in knee osteoarthritis before and after total knee arthroplasty: a cross-sectional study
ConclusionPatients with healthy knees or early stage osteoarthritis have higher quadriceps and hamstrings strengths than those with a more advanced stage of the disease, even after knee replacement. These findings suggest that the traditional rehabilitation programs do not recover strength to levels observed in individuals without knee osteoarthritis.

Cross-sectional study of Gartland II and III humerus supracondylar fracture treatment in childhood: Brazilian orthopedists’ opinion
ConclusionsThe opinion of orthopedic surgeons in Brazil varies for Gartland type II fractures. Type III fractures have a uniform conduct and they are treated urgently (97.7%). When osteosynthesis is necessary, it was observed that 82 (70.7%) and 225 (74.8%) of the interviewed surgeons opted for fixation with two crossed Kirschner wires.

Lipoma arborescens of the elbow: a case with features of a high-grade tumor
This study aimed to describe a case of LA in the elbow, presenting with features of a high-grade tumor. The authors report the case of a 51-years-old male who presented to this institution with pain and swelling on the left elbow. The patient had a seven-year history of investigation, with inconclusive diagnosis. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed an expansive mass with local aggressiveness. Due to these characteristics, it was not possible to discard soft tissue sarcoma at the differential diagnosis. After biopsy and a multidisciplinary team meeting, the authors opted for surgical resection. The final anatomopatholog...
