The Brazilian version of the SRS-22r questionnaire for idiopathic scoliosis
CONCLUSIONS: The high values of internal consistency and ICC reproducibility suggest that this version of the questionnaire can be used in Brazilian patients with idiopathic scoliosis. (Source: Revista Brasileira de Fisioterapia)

Strength of the respiratory and lower limb muscles and functional capacity in chronic stroke survivors with different physical activity levels
CONCLUSIONS: Lower strength deficits and higher functional capacity were associated with higher physical activity levels. However, the moderately active and active groups demonstrated similar strength deficits. (Source: Revista Brasileira de Fisioterapia)

The influence of stimulus phase duration on discomfort and electrically induced torque of quadriceps femoris
CONCLUSIONS: Greater muscle torque cannot be produced by increasing the stimulus phase duration over the range examined. Greater discomfort is produced by increasing the stimulus phase duration. (Source: Revista Brasileira de Fisioterapia)

Comparison of quality-of-life instruments for assessing the participation after stroke based on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF)
CONCLUSIONS: Both the NHP and the SS-QOL show strong correlations between the total score and the score on items that assess the participation categories of the ICF. However, the SS-QOL questionnaire appeared to be the most complete for this assessment because it evaluates more distinct domains and contains the largest number of items related to participation.

Stabilometric response during single-leg stance after lower limb muscle fatigue
CONCLUSIONS: The present study showed that muscle fatigue affects postural control, particularly with the mediolateral and anteroposterior CoP excursion.

Gross Motor Function Classification System Expanded & Revised (GMFCS E & R): reliability between therapists and parents in Brazil
CONCLUSIONS: The Portuguese version of the GMFCS E & R is reliable for use by parents and therapists. Parents tend to classify their children's limitations more severely, because they know their performance in different environments. (Source: Revista Brasileira de Fisioterapia)

Relationship between body balance, lung function, nutritional status and functional capacity in adults with cystic fibrosis
CONCLUSIONS: In adults with CF, imbalance occurs mainly in the anterior-posterior direction and is especially associated with body composition. (Source: Revista Brasileira de Fisioterapia)

The effect of outpatient physical therapy intervention on pelvic floor muscles in women with urinary incontinence
CONCLUSIONS: The results demonstrated an increase in muscle function and the attainment of urinary continence or treatment satisfaction in most cases.

Effects of dorsal and lateral decubitus on peak expiratory flow in healthy subjects
CONCLUSIONS: Body position affects the values of PEF, with decreasing values in DD and RLD. The LLD can be an alternative to optimize the expiratory flow in situations of constraint to the sitting position.

Evaluation of the neuromuscular compartments in the peroneus longus muscle through electrical stimulation and accelerometry
CONCLUSIONS: The posteroinferior compartment primarily contributes to the eversion movement of the foot. NMCs have specific functional roles that contribute to the actions of the muscles to which they belong. (Source: Revista Brasileira de Fisioterapia)

Heart Rate Variability at rest and after the 6-minute walk test (6MWT) in children with cystic fibrosis
CONCLUSIONS: Children with cystic fibrosis exhibited predominance of sympathetic activity at rest that persisted after the 6-minute walking test when compared to the control group. (Source: Revista Brasileira de Fisioterapia)

Influence of specific training on spatio-temporal parameters at the onset of goal-directed reaching in infants: a controlled trial
CONCLUSIONS: A few minutes of reach training are effective in facilitating reaching behavior in infants at the onset of reaching. The improvements in reaching were specific to the position in which the infants were trained. (Source: Revista Brasileira de Fisioterapia)

Relationship of musculoskeletal pain with physical and functional variables and with postural changes in school children from 6 to 12 years of age
CONCLUSIONS: In the our sample, 51.1% of students reported pain and 38.93% reported pain in only one region. There was no association between the presence of pain and sex, BMI, how to carry school supplies, postures used in ADLs and postural changes. The increasing age and physical exercise influenced significantly the presence of pain.
