CONCLUSION: Despite access to a primary care physician, racial/ethnic disparities exist. Future research should explore the underlying reasons for the persistence of these disparities.

The Frequency of A1298C and C677T Polymorphisms of the Methylentetrahydrofolate Gene in Turkish Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis: Relationship with Methotrexate Toxicity.
In conclusion, A1298C and C677T polymorphisms in the MTHFR gene, were not related with MTX-related toxicity in RA patients receiving folate supplementation. Further studies are needed to illuminate the polymorphisms in other enzymes that might be responsible from the MTX toxicity in patients suffering from RA.

Efficacy of transcranial direct current stimulation coupled with a multidisciplinary rehabilitation program for the treatment of fibromyalgia.

Mononuclear Phagocytes in Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients and their Relatives - Family Similarity.
CONCLUSION: We show for the first time that the functioning of circulating mononuclear phagocytes in the assumed to be healthy predisposed to RA individuals differs from that in the healthy people not hereditary tainted with autoimmune diseases and in general resembles the functioning of the cells in the patients with advanced RA.

Plasma Homocysteine is Not Related to the Severity of Microangiopathy in Secondary Raynaud Phenomenon.
CONCLUSION: Plasma homocysteine is not different in patients with either primary or secondary RP and is therefore not a marker for the distinction of these diseases. The extent of microvascular involvement in secondary RP does not correlate with plasma homocysteine.

Crystalline glucosamine sulfate in the treatment of osteoarthritis: evidence of long-term cardiovascular safety from clinical trials.
CONCLUSIONS: Long-term use of CGS did not affect blood pressure, lipids, or glucose in patients with osteoarthritis. These findings further support the cardiovascular safety of CGS.

Enhanced expression of tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases-4 gene in human osteoarthritic synovial membranes and its differential regulation by cytokines in chondrocytes.
CONCLUSION: Enhanced TIMP-4 gene expression in OA synovial membranes and cartilage may be due to induction by TGF-β1, OSM and IL-17, suggesting its pathophysiological role in tissue remodeling in human joints. TGF-β1 induction of TIMP-4 expression is mediated partly by ERK pathway and Sp1 transcription factor.
