Spontaneous Spinal Epidural Hematoma With Hemiparesis Masquerading as Acute Cerebral Infarction: A Case Report
Acute onset hemiparesis is a common initial presentation of cerebral ischemic stroke. However, other possibilities should be considered as well before final diagnosis. Motor deficits resulting from spontaneous spinal epidural hematoma (SSEH) are usually paraparesis or quadriparesis, but a few cases of SSEH that presented hemiparesis have been documented and misdiagnosed as cerebral ischemic stroke. Herein, we present a rare case of SSEH with acute hemiparesis, which was initially misdiagnosed. (Source: Neurosurgery Quarterly)

Silver-Russell Syndrome and Middle Cerebral Artery Infarct: A Case Report
We report the first case of a 5-year-old girl with SRS presenting with epileptic seizures following a left-sided middle cerebral artery occlusion. Early diagnosis and effective therapy of thromboembolic events in SRS can prevent complications and sequelae. (Source: Neurosurgery Quarterly)

Ruptured Anterior Communicating Artery Aneurysm With Untreated Craniopharyngioma: A Case Report
Coexistence of intracranial aneurysm and craniopharyngioma has been reported in several patients who have undergone postoperative radiotherapy. However, we present an extremely rare case of ruptured aneurysm of anterior communicating artery (AComA) complicating with naive craniopharyngioma. The blood supply of A2 segment of left anterior cerebral artery was mainly from the right side through AComA in digital subtraction angiography. We suggest that by pressing the A1 segment of left anterior cerebral artery, the tumor imposed heavy burden to the AComA, which promoted the genesis and rupture of this aneurysm. Primary Lumbarspinal Paraganglioma: A Case Report With Literature Review of Last 10 Years
Spinal paragangliomas are the neuroendocrine tumors of the extra-adrenal paraganglionic system. Spinal paragangliomas are very rare. A 64-year-old female patient admitted to our clinic with non-specific complaints. Intradural mass excision and lumbar posterior stabilization were performed with the diagnoses of degenerative narrow canal and intradural mass at L3 level following after the examinations. The pathological diagnosis came out as a paraganglioma. Full body scan images showed no multiple paragangliomas at any other location. Spinal paragangliomas are difficult to diagnose preoperatively due to the absence of any sp...

Idiopathic Orbital Inflammation Syndrome: A Case Report
We present a 72-year-old man with unilateral medial rectus mass lesion. Histologically, the mass composed of dense fibrotic tissue with infiltration of lymphocytes, plasma cells, and few eosinophils. Management was done by surgical debulking with good result and no complications. (Source: Neurosurgery Quarterly)

Clinically Adult Onset of a Leptomeningeal Cyst After Head Trauma in Childhood: Case Report and Review of the Literature
We present the case of a 35-year-old woman with drug-resistant epileptic seizures caused by a traumatic leptomeningeal cyst from the head injury she suffered at the age of 18 months. Surgical treatment was performed with the removal of the leptomeningeal cyst, dural repair, and cranioplasty. She had no more epileptic seizures at her follow-ups. Although it is rare, after head trauma in childhood, adult patients have often complained of epileptic seizure. Surgical treatment is necessary to control the illness. A Novel Dural Reconstruction Method Following Spinal Tumor Resection
Conclusions: This simple method that combines a duraplasty and titanium laminoplasty procedure seems to be a safe and effective approach to achieving the objective of maintaining a capacious CSF-filled space surrounding the spinal cord following intradural surgery. (Source: Neurosurgery Quarterly)

The Comparison of Pain Management Efficiency of Ultrasonography-guided Facet Joint Injection With Fluoroscopy-guided Injection in Lower Lumbar Facet Syndrome
Conclusion: The ultrasonography-guided facet intra-articular injections, like fluoroscopy-guided injections, are efficient and successful at diagnosis and short-term pain management and should be kept in mind as a safer, cheaper alternative method to computed tomography, fluoroscopy-guided algological injections. Subaxial Cervical Spine Alignment After C1 to C2 Fusion
Atlantoaxial fusion is a common strategy for managing segmental C1 to C2 spinal instability, with an incidence of postoperative subaxial instability (kyphosis and subaxial subluxation) of up to 40%. Our objective was to conduct a literature review of atlantoaxial fusion postoperative subaxial instability, addressing incidence, specific risk factors, and management. An online PubMed/MEDLINE and EMBASE search for subaxial deformity associated with atlantoaxial fusion was conducted. Sixteen research studies addressing atlantoaxial postoperative subaxial instability were identified. Subaxial kyphosis and subaxial subluxation w...

Evaluation of Long-term Clinical Results of Percutaneous Plasma Disk Coagulation Treatment in Lumbar and Cervical Disk Herniation
Conclusions: It was found that percutaneous plasma disk coagulation (D30) treatment in patients with Macnab grade 1-2-3 and Pfirrmann grade 1-2-3 degeneration was useful in lumbar and cervical herniations, but the results were more significant in cervical disk herniations.
