Accuracy of the "International Criteria" for ECG screening in athletes in comparison with previous published criteria: rationale and design of a diagnostic meta-analysis.
CONCLUSIONS: The present diagnostic meta-analysis results will aid sports medicine physicians and cardiologist in adhering to the most accurate criteria for ECG evaluation in athletes and it may help to solve controversies aroused regarding the excess cost of ECG in PPS related to the amount of false positive cases.

Excess all-cause mortality during COVID-19 outbreak: potential role of untreated cardiovascular disease.
CONCLUSIONS: The analysis of all-cause mortality data in Italy indicates that reported COVID-19-related deaths are an underestimate of the actual death toll. All-cause death should be seen as the epidemiological indicator of choice to assess the real mortality impact exerted by SARS-CoV-2, given that it also best reflects the toll on frail patient subsets (eg the elderly or those with cardiovascular disease).

Factors associated with recurrent postinfarction ventricular tachycardia following ablation: a meta-analysis.
CONCLUSIONS: Our meta-analysis demonstrated that inducibility after the procedure, lower baseline LVEF and higher baseline NYHA classification were associated with an increased risk of VT recurrence in postinfarction VT patients who underwent VT ablation.

Genetic variations of Renin-angiontensin and Fibrinolytic systems and susceptibility to coronary artery disease: a population genetics perspective.

Diagnostic yield of implantable loop recorders in patients with unexplained syncope: single-centre experience.
CONCLUSIONS: The diagnostic yield of ILR after initial inconclusive recommended diagnostic work-up in accordance with the relevant guidelines was high. The findings affirm ILR as an important diagnostic tool in contemporary management of syncope.

Coronary artery anomalies and dominance: data from 7,858 patients in a single center in Turkey.
CONCLUSIONS: The incidence of CAA was 1.1% in total and is compatible with other major studies. According to the Angelini CAA clasification, group B anomalies are observed more frequently than other studies. Cx dominance is moderately high.
