Standardized Protocol to Analyze Computed Tomography Imaging of Type B Aortic Dissections
Conclusion: This protocol showed acceptable repeatability for aortic diameter and aortic volume measurements. Assessment of entry tears proved challenging and associated with less favorable results. Additionally, investigators are urged to be more transparent regarding the measurement methodology used in studies describing aortic dimensions. (Source: Journal of Endovascular Therapy)

Bleeding Risk Profile in Patients With Symptomatic Peripheral Artery Disease
Conclusion: Patients with PAD, especially those presenting with Rutherford category 5/6 ischemic symptoms, have high HAS-BLED scores, suggesting increased risk for major bleeding. Prospective clinical validation of the HAS-BLED score in patients with PAD may help with the risk-benefit assessment when prescribing antithrombotic therapy. (Source: Journal of Endovascular Therapy)

Efficacy and Safety of Transbrachial Access for Iliac Endovascular Interventions
Conclusion: Brachial artery access enables endovascular treatment of iliac artery disease in the majority of patients, although an adjunctive transfemoral access may be required. However, the high incidences of access site complications and cerebral events remain a significant limitation of the transbrachial approach. (Source: Journal of Endovascular Therapy)

Covered vs Uncovered Stents for Aortoiliac and Femoropopliteal Arterial Disease: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
Conclusion: Theoretically, the use of covered stents may increase the patency rate due to decreased restenosis after stent placement. This analysis found that the primary patency was improved with the use of a covered stent in femoropopliteal lesions but not in aortoiliac disease. Improved outcomes were seen with covered stents compared with bare metal stents as indicated by a lower need for reintervention and an improved ABI. It remains to be investigated whether such beneficial effects can be translated into improved clinical outcomes, such as limb salvage and amputation-free survival. Long-term results of the comparativ...

A Real-World Experience With the Supera Interwoven Nitinol Stent in Femoropopliteal Arteries: Midterm Patency Results and Failure Analysis
Conclusion: In this heterogeneous group that included long and complex atheromatous femoropopliteal lesions, the Supera stent achieved excellent clinical and patency results at 1 year. Further improvement may be achieved through careful patient selection and the avoidance of deployment pitfalls. (Source: Journal of Endovascular Therapy)

Intravascular Ultrasound-Derived Stent Dimensions as Predictors of Angiographic Restenosis Following Nitinol Stent Implantation in the Superficial Femoral Artery
Conclusion: Postprocedure MSA can predict ISR in SFA lesions, which suggests that adequate stent enlargement during angioplasty might be required for superior patency. (Source: Journal of Endovascular Therapy)

German Center Subanalysis of the LEVANT 2 Global Randomized Study of the Lutonix Drug-Coated Balloon in the Treatment of Femoropopliteal Occlusive Disease
Conclusion: Superiority of DCB over PTA in the German cohort of LEVANT 2 was demonstrated for primary patency, composite safety, and freedom from TLR. The benefit of DCB was also consistent for both genders. Geographic or regional differences in procedural variables may account for the different outcomes between the German and non-German cohorts.
