A case of prenatally diagnosed limited dorsal myeloschisis with good prognosis
We present a case of prenatally diagnosed LDM. Because sonographic examination revealed a round, cystic, septated cervical mass without associated cerebral anomalies, the lesion was initially considered an isolated meningocele. Fetal MRI contributed to correct the diagnosis. A diagnostic error can lead to the wrong surgical support or even the termination of pregnancy. Therefore, we highlight the importance of fetal MRI in such cases, particularly when no cerebral abnormalities are observed on sonographic examination. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Long ‐term right ventricular changes in mustard‐exposed patients: A historical cohort
ConclusionOur results present baseline RV values for MG‐exposed patients and show mild but significant changes after 3 decades. Further cellular and molecular studies are needed to evaluate underlying mechanisms of MG cardiotoxicity. (Source: Journal of Clinical Ultrasound)

Sonographic detection of an infected maternal urachal cyst during pregnancy
We describe the case of a 35‐year‐old multiparous woman presenting in the third trimester with 2 weeks of fever, abdominal pain, and urinary symptoms. Imaging showed a 5‐cm complex anterior midline mass, found intraoperatively to be eroding into the uterus. Sonographic imaging aided in the diagnosis and management of the urachal cyst, and antepartum sonographic measurements of the lower uterine segment helped to counsel regarding a trial of labor. Following treatment, the patient stabilized and had an uncomplicated vaginal delivery. (Source: Journal of Clinical Ultrasound)

Pulmonary ultrasound scoring system for intubated critically ill patients and its association with clinical metrics and mortality: A prospective cohort study
ConclusionsA quick, scored, PU examination was associated with clinical metrics, including mortality among a diverse population of patients intubated for ARF. In addition to diagnostic and prognostic information at the bedside, a standardized and quantifiable approach to PU provides objectivity in serial assessment and may enhance communication of findings between providers. Mitral regurgitation severity correlates with symptoms and extent of left atrial dysfunction: Effect of mitral valve repair
ConclusionsIn patients with severe MR, EROA correlate with symptoms and LA PALS, which itself predicts the occurrence of postoperative AF. Strain values were superior to 2D data for the prediction of postoperative AF. (Source: Journal of Clinical Ultrasound)

Perinatal diagnosis and management of oropharyngeal fetus in fetu: A case report
We describe the perinatal diagnosis and management of a fetus with oropharyngeal and cervical fetus in fetu. High‐resolution ultrasonography with 3‐dimensional rendering can identify increased risks of airway obstruction in utero. Early identification allows a multidisciplinary team to be assembled for a scheduled ex utero intrapartum treatment procedure. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Giant pseudoaneurysm of the external carotid artery causing stroke: A case report
We report a patient in whom mechanical compression of the internal carotid artery by a giant external carotid artery pseudoaneurysm caused a stroke. This was a case of vascular Eagle syndrome due to the impingement of an elongated styloid process on the external carotid artery with subsequent dissection and formation of a pseudoaneurysm. Carotid ultrasonographic examination allowed distinguishing the pseudoaneurysm from other vascular and solid masses of the neck. (Source: Journal of Clinical Ultrasound)
