Conclusions Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular non-communicable chronic diseases are independently associated with depression. These results support the hypothesis that vascular disease is a risk factor for brain impairment associated with depression. Behavior problems and overweight in preschool children in southern Brazil
Conclusions Preschool girls with excess of weight showed more problems of anxiety and depression than those with adequate weight at the same age. This information is extremely important, as the preschool years are ideal for investing in prevention of both behavioral problems and overweight/obesity, allowing to introduce healthier habits and behaviors and decrease thus the negative consequences both cause to children. Cross-cultural validation of the Portuguese version (Brazil) CONNECT – A care continuity as mental health services
Conclusion PCA demonstrated a structure corresponding to the original structure of the scale. By the time the CONNECT is the only assessment tool of continuity of care of these patients is adapted to the Brazilian context. Conclusion Bariatric surgery (particularly Roux-en-Y gastric bypass) may alter ethanol metabolism and implicate changes in life style and stress levels. Put together, these factors can contribute to the development of harmful alcohol consumption patterns that need to be considered in contrast with the great benefits that surgical correction of obesity brings to several areas of patient ’ s life. Psychogenic polydipsia and hyponatremia – A side effect of psychosis: a review with a case report
ABSTRACT Primary polydipsia, or psychogenic polydipsia, is a condition that results in considerable morbidity and mortality. In psychiatric patients, psychogenic polydipsia and the syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion may cause hyponatremia. In the 1970s, it was recognized that antipsychotics such as tiotixene and haloperidol could impair the excretion of a free water load.
