Double gap metabolic acidosis in a Chinese alcoholic
We report a patient with alcoholic ketoacidosis. He had a history of excessive alcohol intake and presented with repeated vomiting, loss of appetite and hypovolemic shock. Laboratory results revealed high anion gap metabolic acidosis, increased serum osmolal gap, ketonemia, lactic acidosis and acute renal failure. Clinical experience of conversion from twice-daily standard-release tacrolimus to once-daily prolonged-release tacrolimus in stable renal transplant recipients
Conclusion Our findings confirm that trough tacrolimus blood level can decrease following a 1:1 (mg:mg) conversion from standard-release to prolonged-release tacrolimus formulation in Chinese patients.
