ConclusionThe findings indicate that forums can play a valuable role in aiding and motivating individuals in the daily management diabetes and highlight how this support is used to complement formal health services. Using CollaboRATE, a brief patient ‐reported measure of shared decision making: Results from three clinical settings in the United States
This study demonstrates that CollaboRATE can be used in diverse primary care settings. A clinic's workflow plays a crucial role in implementation. The association between patient activation and self ‐care practices: A cross‐sectional study of an Australian population with comorbid diabetes and chronic kidney disease
ConclusionIn people with diabetes and CKD, a high level of patient activation was positively associated with a higher overall level of self‐care. Our results identify subgroups of people who may benefit from tailored interventions to further improve their health outcomes. Further prospective studies are warranted to confirm present findings. Asking what matters: The relevance and use of patient ‐reported outcome measures that were developed without patient involvement
This study therefore aimed to investigate whether PROMs, which were developed without patient involvement, are relevant to patients and whether the level of importance allocated towards aspects of these PROMs varies between patient groups. MethodsAll patients from 20 Dutch hospitals undergoing hip or knee surgery in 2014 were invited to a PROMs survey. A qualitative study exploring the difficulties influencing decision making at the end of life for people with dementia
ConclusionsThis study suggests that decision making at the end of life for people with dementia has the potential to be improved.
