Timothy Schowalter Elected as Next Vice President-Elect of Entomological Society of America

ESA Statement on the National Museum of Brazil
Annapolis, MD; September 5, 2018 —We at the Entomological Society of America were deeply saddened at the tragic destruction of the National Museum of Brazil (Museu Nacional) in a fire this weekend. We are grateful that no serious injuries occurred, but the same cannot be said for the deep repository of irreplaceable scientific an d historical treasures that were housed there. Newly Certified Corps of Entomologists Boosts U.S. Response Capacity for Vector-Borne Disease Outbreaks

Such c ommunication that objectifies and demeans people has no place in science and runs counter to ESA’s stated principles and commitment to advancing inclusion and equality within the entomological profession.
