Adapting a Computerized Medical Dictation System to Prepare Academic Papers in Radiology
Everyday radiologists use dictation software to compose clinical reports of imaging findings. The dictation software is tailored for medical use and to the speech pattern of each radiologist. Over the past 10 years we have used dictation software to compose academic manuscripts, correspondence letters, and texts of educational exhibits. The advantages of using voice dictation is faster composition of manuscripts. However, use of such software requires preparation. The purpose of this article is to review the steps of adapting a clinical dictation software for dictating academic manuscripts and detail the advantages and lim...

Do Interventions Intended to Increase Female Medical Student Interest in Radiology Work? Preliminary Findings
The purpose of this study is to share the preliminary findings after initiation of interventions at the medical school level, which have been suggested by the literature to increase female medical student interest in radiology at one institution. Additionally, the paper provides discussion of how to better future interventions for increasing female medical student interest. (Source: Current Problems in Diagnostic Radiology)

Association of Tibial Plateau Fracture Morphology With Ligament Disruption in the Context of Multiligament Knee Injury
We identified common morphologies of tibial plateau fractures that arise with multiligament knee injuries (MLKIs), and investigated the relationship of the fracture with ligament tears. We also evaluated the correlation of 3 tibial plateau fracture classification systems (Schatzker, AO, and Duparc). (Source: Current Problems in Diagnostic Radiology)

Small Cell Carcinoma of the Ovary, Hypercalcemic Type: Clinical and Imaging Review
Small Cell Carcinoma of the Ovary, Hypercalcemic Type (SCCOHT) is a rare, aggressive malignancy with a poor prognosis. Its features are difficult to differentiate from other ovarian malignancies. In this article, we discuss recent advances in our understanding of this rare malignancy including tumor genetics. We also describe demographic, clinical and imaging findings, staging, and treatment options. (Source: Current Problems in Diagnostic Radiology)

Diffusion Tensor Imaging of the Spinal Cord: Clinical Value, Investigational Applications, and Technical Limitations
Although diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) has become a mainstay in modern brain imaging, it remains less utilized in the evaluation of the spinal cord. Many studies have shown promise in using DWI and diffusion-tensor imaging (DTI) for evaluation of the spinal cord; however, application has been stalled by technical obstacles and artifacts, and questions remain regarding its clinical utility on an individual examination level. This review discusses the background, concepts, and technical aspects of DWI and DTI, specifically for imaging of the spinal cord. (Source: Current Problems in Diagnostic Radiology)
