Transperineal ultrasonography in stress urinary incontinence: The significance of urethral rotation angles
Conclusion Urethral rotation angles may assist in the assessment and diagnosis of patients with SUI, which may in turn reduce the need for more sophisticated urodynamic studies. (Source: Arab Journal of Urology)

Silodosin vs tamsulosin in the management of distal ureteric stones: A prospective randomised study
Conclusion Our data show that silodosin is more effective than tamsulosin in the management of DUS for stone clearance rates and stone expulsion times. A multicentre study on larger scale is needed to confirm the efficacy and safety of silodosin. (Source: Arab Journal of Urology)

Holmium laser enucleation versus simple prostatectomy for treating large prostates: Results of a systematic review and meta-analysis
Conclusion The results of the meta-analysis have shown that HoLEP and OP possess similar overall efficacy profiles for both objective and subjective disease status outcome measures. This review shows these improvements persist to at least the 24month follow-up point. Further randomised studies are warranted to fully determine the optimal surgical intervention for large prostate burdens. (Source: Arab Journal of Urology)

Goserelin acetate before transurethral resection of moderately enlarged benign prostatic hyperplasia: Prospective randomised-controlled clinical trial
Conclusion A single dose of GA, a LHRH agonist, before TURP is safe and effective in reducing surgical blood loss. It significantly reduced MVD in both suburethral and stromal nodular prostatic tissues without regional discrepancy. (Source: Arab Journal of Urology)

Low-dose bacille Calmette–Guérin for non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer: Results of a prospective study
Conclusion Low-dose BCG intravesical therapy is an effective adjuvant treatment in NMIBC. However, this needs to be validated in future studies and in comparison with other proposed doses and/or regimens. (Source: Arab Journal of Urology)

After urgent drainage of an obstructed kidney by internal ureteric stenting; is ureteroscopic stone extraction always needed?
Conclusion Spontaneous ureteric stone passage is possible after emergent drainage of an obstructed kidney by ureteric stenting. Stone opacity, larger stone width, and positive preoperative urine culture are associated with a greater probability of requiring ureteroscopic stone extraction after emergent drainage by ureteric stenting. Long-term follow-up after ileocaecal continent cutaneous urinary diversion (Mainz I pouch): A retrospective study of a monocentric experience
Conclusion The ICCR is a safe and established technique when an orthotopic pouch is impossible. The long-term follow-up shows acceptable complication rates and satisfactory continence conditions. However, large population studies are necessary to confirm this observation. (Source: Arab Journal of Urology)
