Body Image and Body Contouring Procedures
Dissatisfaction with physical appearance and body image is a common psychological phenomena in Western society. Decrease in Seroma Rate After Adopting Progressive Tension Sutures Without Drains: A Single Surgery Center Experience of 451 Abdominoplasties Over 7 Years
Conclusions PTS without drains significantly decreased the seroma rate in our practice. Our experience adds to the mounting evidence that surgeons should consider using the PTS technique and abandon the use of drains in abdominoplasty. A well powered, multicenter, randomized controlled study is needed in order to definitively lay this question to rest. Level of Evidence 4 Therapeutic (Source: Aesthetic Surgery Journal)

Autologous Fat Grafting in Cosmetic Breast Augmentation: A Systematic Review on Radiological Safety, Complications, Volume Retention, and Patient/Surgeon Satisfaction
Conclusions AFG is a promising method in achieving autologous cosmetic breast augmentation with satisfactory volume retention and satisfaction rates in eight and six studies, respectively. Complications and radiological findings are comparable to those after implant augmentation. Future studies should focus on cancer occurrence and detection to further substantiate AFG safety. In addition, grafting methods and the use of auxiliary procedures to identify factors leading to better outcomes in terms of volume retention should be investigated. Finally, objective questionnaires are needed to represent patient satisfaction. Lev...

Primary Open Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty is perhaps the most complex cosmetic surgery procedure performed today. It is characterized by an intricate interplay between form and function, with patient satisfaction being dependent not only on improvement of nasal appearance but also resolution of preexisting airway symptoms. The prerequisite for successful execution of this challenging procedure is a thorough understanding of nasal anatomy and physiology. Hence, a thorough preoperative evaluation is at least as important and the surgical skill in performing the operation.
