11 April 2014 -- In her address during the spring meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, Dr Margaret Chan explored the economic dimensions of universal health coverage, drawing on optimistic findings from the 2013 Lancet Commission on Investing in Health. She emphasized policy options that make UHC affordable. She also discussed a proposed WHO/World Bank framework, with a limited number of indicators, that can be used to monitor progress towards UHC. WHO Director-General addresses vaccine and immunization research forum
5 March 2014 -- In her keynote lecture, Dr Margaret Chan expresses her view that immunization programmes have matured to the point that they can now serve as models for delivering preventive interventions for multiple health problems.
