Closing remarks at the Sixty-seventh World Health Assembly

24 May 2014 -- In her address to the 67th World Health Assembly, Dr Margaret Chan drew attention to a number of ominous trends that define the future job for public health. She outlined lessons learned from pursuit of the health-related Millennium Development Goals and underscored WHO’s ability to support even more ambitious goals for the future. In line with the rise of childhood obesity, she announced establishment of a high-level Commission on Ending Childhood Obesity.
