Localization of nectin ‐2α at the boundary between the adjacent somata of the clustered cholinergic neurons and its regulatory role in the subcellular localization of the voltage‐gated A‐type K+ channel Kv4.2 in the medial habenula
This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. Nectin‐2α was prominently expressed in the adult and developing mouse medial habenulas and localized at the boundary between the adjacent somata of the clustered cholinergic neurons where the voltage‐gated A‐type K+ channel Kv4.2 was localized. Nectin‐2α regulated the localization of Kv4.2 at this boundary in the developing medial habenula. (Source: The Journal of Comparative Neurology)

Thalamostriatal and cerebellothalamic pathways in a songbird, the Bengalese finch
This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. We demonstrate the existence of a thalamostriatal system in a songbird, the Bengalese Finch, by using a lentiviral vector that specifically labels presynaptic axon terminal segments. Specifically we show that in the song system thalamic nucleus DLM projects to basal ganglia nucleus Area X. We also map the cerebellar‐recipient regions of dorsal thalamus (DTCbN), and show that a dorsal anterior subregion of DTCbN projects to Area X, while ventral posterior subregions project to medial striatum outside Area X. Molecular anatomy of the alligator dorsal telencephalon
This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. Briscoe and Ragsdale demonstrate clear molecular homologs of all major avian dorsal telencephalon cell populations in the brain of the late embryonic Alligator mississippiensis. The alligator cerebral cortex contains putative homologs of neocortical input, output, and intratelencephalic cell types, which are organized into cortical sublayers. These findings are documented in a 12 level atlas. (Source: The Journal of Comparative Neurology)
