The relationship among unawareness of memory impairment, depression, and dementia in older adults with memory impairment in Singapore
ConclusionUnawareness of memory impairment was common among older adults with memory impairment. However, unawareness may be the result of denial as a strategy for coping with memory loss of which the older adult is aware. Psychological care should be integrated into the overall treatment management of dementia to mitigate the possible risk of depression while increasing individual awareness of memory loss. Simultaneous usage of dementia medications and anticholinergics among Asians and Pacific Islanders
ConclusionsSimultaneous prescribing of cholinesterase inhibitors, memantine, and anticholinergic medications was significantly less common than in previous studies, with some ethnic variability. The less frequent occurrence of concurrent medications in the Asian population may be because of variations in the rate of indications or in tolerability for anticholinergic medications among the population. The association between objective income and subjective financial need and depressive symptoms in South Koreans aged 60 and older
ConclusionsDifferences in the prevalence of depressive symptoms generally exist between individuals of the same income category depending on perceived income adequacy. Therefore, it is important to consider discrepancies in objective income and subjective financial need when assessing risk factors for depressive symptoms in older populations. Evaluation of nursing interventions using minimally invasive assessments methods for patients in a persistent vegetative state
ConclusionsThe data suggest three indices for predicting intervention efficacy in individuals and for assessing an intervention's contribution to quality of life improvement. Among the multiple evaluation methods, Konan Scores was the most effective. Ultimately, the three nursing interventions used in this study and Konan Score led to the optimization of nursing home care and rehabilitation for PVS patients. (Source: Psychogeriatrics)

Effects of physical activity on the P300 component in elderly people: a systematic review
The effects of physical activity on brain function can be assessed through event‐related potentials (P300) that reflect cortical activities related to cognitive functions. P300 latency represents the information processing time; longer latencies represent slower processing. P300 amplitude is associated with the attentional system and working memory, with higher amplitudes representing more preserved functions. This systematic review summarizes the literature concerning the effects of physical activity and exercise on P300 in the elderly.
