Evaluation of the impact of individual and environmental factors on the prognosis of women with vulvar cancer
Conclusions In patients with post-operative wound healing complications due to infection statistically significant worse survival rates have been observed. Vulvar cancer was repeatedly diagnosed 22 years after menopause, in its advanced stages (according to FIGO 1988). No correlation between survival rate and demographic factors, environmental factors, gynecological and obstetric history and co-morbidities was demonstrated. Difference between overall survival and disease-specific survival, that is, excluding deaths from causes unrelated to cancer, was 10%. (Source: Polish Annals of Medicine)

The sCD163/sTWEAK ratio in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells cultures correlates with disease severity in early systemic sclerosis
Conclusions We showed that there is an imbalance in the production of sCD163 and sTWEAK by the PBMC from SSc patients resulting in increased sCD163/sTWEAK ratio. Correlation of sCD163/sTWEAK ratio in PBMC supernatants with the severity of skin and lung involvement indicates that interaction of these two molecules might affect the development of SSc. Medical aspects of insanity in Polish Criminal Law
Conclusions The issue of insanity requires effective combination of complex and suitable legal structures, current medical knowledge, and interest of an individual and society. For the effective and accurate regulations of the issue of insanity and well-functioning practice, a dialog between the two professions is required. Specifying the term of insanity is the responsibility of physicians, since its clarification on the basis of current legal status is unreasonable and inadequate due to the fact that its extent is each time determined by the current medical knowledge. A current opinion on the safety and efficacy of doxycycline including parenteral administration – A review
Conclusions Currently, doxycycline is rarely used, mainly because of the presence of a high percentage of drug-resistant strains of bacteria. However, there is a group of infections, in which the antibiotic has not lost its therapeutic value and is still the first choice. The additional advantage is the beneficial effect on the human immune system. Further studies are indicated, to confirm the effectiveness of doxycycline in the treatment of various cancers.
