The Magnification of Atomic Lines Intensity Originated by laser Breakdown in Ultrasound Field
Publication date: 2017 Source:Physics Procedia, Volume 86 Author(s): A.V. Bulanov, I.G. Nagorny Atomic lines of some chemical elements like sodium and magnesium were investigated for laser breakdown of water with the ultrasound field. The effect of magnification of these atomic lines resolution for salt water in ultrasound field was obtained. It is shown that the method of registration of acoustic emission from a breakdown zone allows to investigate thresholds and dynamics of laser breakdown which will be in accord with high-speed optical methods. The study revealed important practical applications of acoustic emission...

Features of Optical Breakdown of Liquid under the Action of Ultrasound
Publication date: 2017 Source:Physics Procedia, Volume 86 Author(s): A.V. Bulanov, I.G. Nagorny, A.V. Storozhenko The experimental results show the sharply strengthened effects of acoustic emission from a breakdown zone by the joint influence of laser and ultrasonic irradiation. Various breakdown thresholds and character of acoustic emission in fresh and sea water are observed. The experimental result established that acoustic emission from optical breakdown of sea water in the presence and absence of ultrasound exceeds acoustic emission for the same experimental conditions in fresh water. Optically Induced Space-charge and Conductivity Gratings in Wide-bandgap Semiconductors
We report optical excitation of space-charge and conductivity gratings in wide-bandgap semiconductors. The approach is based on the illumination of semiconductor material with an oscillating interference pattern formed of two light waves, one of which is phase modulated with frequency ω. The non-steady-state photocurrent flowing through the short-circuited semiconductor is the measurable quantity in this technique. The alternating current results from the periodic relative shifts of the photoconductivity and space charge electric field gratings which arise in the volume of the crystal under illumination. The experiments a...

Publication date: 2017 Source:Physics Procedia, Volume 86 Author(s): Sergey A. Kishkin, Svetlana P. Kotova, Vladimir G. Volostnikov Spiral beams of light are characterized by their ability to remain structurally unchanged at propagation. They may have the shape of any closed curve. In the present paper a new approach is proposed within the framework of the contour analysis based on a close cooperation of modern coherent optics, theory of functions and numerical methods. An algorithm for comparing contours is presented and theoretically justified, which allows convincing of whether two contours are similar or not to wi...

It is shown that the LDOS for the cases of sinusoidal and rectangular profiles of ɛ(z) are close to each other in the first and second Brillouin zones, and sharp differences between them appear beginning with the third zone. Radical changes in the LDOS occur in a rectangular superlattice wi...
