We present a case of infant with Arnold-Chiari syndrome who was hospitalized several times in the clinic because of feeding difficulties. The patient had variable tolerance of nutrition through the digestive tract (oral, gastric and enteric feeding), periodically requiring the use of the parenteral nutrition. In our patient, despite performed diagnostic tests, the cause of disorders remains unknown. Burn injury epidemiology, treatment, and prevention approaches in Milwaukee and Rzesz ów: A comparative study
Conclusion: Each city needs specific educational strategies to address gaps in knowledge about burn prevention, with a focus on prevention in toddlers and infants. Significantly different management approaches are being utilized in burn treatment. In Milwaukee, there seems to be an emphasis on procedures, while in Rzeszów, the emphasis is on medical management. We present a case of a 10-month-old boy admitted to our Department. In the prenatal period he was diagnosed with right-sided hydronephrosis due to congenital IV/V˚ vesicoureteral reflux. In newborn period, he presented hypocalcemic convulsions due to hypoparathyroidism (total Ca 1.12 mmol/l, PTH 0.7 pg/ml). Although he failed newborn screening hearing test, he was not further diagnosed until we commissioned audiologic examination which revealed bilateral mild sensorineural deafness. Conclusions Feeling the sense of life is connected positively with self-rating health as well as school achievements. The better junior high school students rated their own health and school achievement the higher level of sense of life they felt.
