Experiences of participating in return ‐to‐work group programmes for people with musculoskeletal disorders: A focus group study
ConclusionThe study participants had attained a heightened awareness of what they could do to continue working. Many participants had introduced changes in their daily lives, with consequences for employment, social life and lifestyle. The findings suggest that RTW‐GPs can help people with MSDs to remain in employment and prevent absenteeism. (Source: Musculoskeletal Care)

Living with systemic lupus erythematosus: A patient engagement perspective

Exploring perceptions of a rheumatoid arthritis ‐specific smoking cessation programme
ConclusionThe novel RA‐specific smoking cessation intervention that had formed the basis of the previous RCT provided useful and varied options to assist quitting smoking in RA. Successful quitters were ready and motivated to quit smoking regardless of their randomization status, with nicotine replacement therapy an effective aid to quitting. Support offered by the educators was critical in the participants' perspective. (Source: Musculoskeletal Care)

Physical activity participation and the association with work ‐related upper quadrant disorders (WRUQDs): A systematic review
ConclusionsThere is limited evidence for a negative association between physical activity participation and the development of WRUQDs. However, this was not a consistent finding across all studies included. Further research is indicated in standardizing diagnostic criteria and the measurement of physical activity participation in this patient population. (Source: Musculoskeletal Care)

Yoga for the management of pain and sleep in rheumatoid arthritis: a pilot randomized controlled trial
ConclusionsA relaxation‐based yoga programme was found to be feasible and safe for participants with rheumatoid arthritis‐related pain and functional disability. Adverse events were minor, and not unexpected from an intervention including physical components. This pilot provides a framework for larger intervention studies, and supports further exploration of yoga as a complex intervention to assist with the management of rheumatoid arthritis. The decision ‐making threshold and the factors that affect it: A qualitative study of patients' decision‐making in knee replacement surgery
ConclusionsAn awareness of the deliberation phase, the factors that influence it, the stress associated with it, preferred models of care, and the influence of the decision‐making threshold will aid useful communication between doctors and patients. (Source: Musculoskeletal Care)
