Well ‐being of nursing staff on specialized units for older patients with combined care needs
ConclusionStaff well‐being might benefit from placing patients with combined care needs together, so care is focused. The presence of specialized care units can allow for both targeted and focused allocation of nursing staff to these units and provision of specific training. The association of nursing care perception with coping skills and posttraumatic growth in mental disorders
This study was conducted to determine the effects of coping styles and nursing care perceptions on posttraumatic growth in mental disorders. MethodThe descriptive study was conducted at a psychiatric clinic with a personal information form and three scale test. ResultsIn the study, completed with 122 psychiatric inpatients, it was found that patients were using effective methods to cope with stress, were satisfied with nursing care and had high posttraumatic growth. Employee Attitudes Toward Aggression in Persons with Dementia: Readiness for Wider Adoption of Person ‐Centered Frameworks
This study examined attitudes toward aggression among nursing and non‐nursing employees to address gaps in existing research and assess readiness for wider adoption of person‐centered frameworks. Method: The Management of Aggression in People with Dementia Attitude Questionnaire was used to survey attitudes of employees in Michigan‐based nursing homes. Results: Overall, employees preferred person‐centered over standard approaches. Job title was a significant predictor of paradigm support.
