Changing Trends of Infective Endocarditis in India: A South Indian Experience
Conclusion: The disease profile of patients has undergone a change with an increase in mean age and a higher percentage of streptococcal endocarditis. The yield of blood culture has almost doubled over the last three decades. Despite significant advances in medical technology over the last 3 decades, mortality rate remains the same. Keywords:Changing trends,India,Infective endocarditis,Native valve endocarditis.View:PDF (151.4 KB)Click here to download the PDF file.‹ Lowering Inflammation Level by Lp-PLA2 Inhibitor (Darapladib) in Early Atherosclerosis Development: in vivo Rat Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus ModelTranscatheter C...

Homocysteine-Is there any role in Coronary Heart Disease?
Conclusion: These results do not support the hypothesis that coronary heart disease is related to high serum homocysteine concentration. Comparative Analysis of Clinical Profile of Patients Admitted with Idiopathic Dilated Cardiomyopathy in a Tertiary Care Hospital
Conclusion: In our study, treatment with the medications significantly improved EF and LVES. However, there was no treatment-based difference in the patients on ACE inhibitors or ARBs in the improvement in EF. Our study also observed significance difference in platelets count, SGOT, SGPT, and LDL levels in idiopathic DCM patients when compared with healthy controls. Keywords:ACE Inhibitors,ARBs,DCM,LVEF,LVES,NYHA ClassView:PDF (149.48 KB)Click here to download the PDF file.‹ J. Syphilitic Bilateral Coronary Artery Ostial Stenosis Presenting as Acute Coronary Syndrome
We report a case of a 41-year male patient admitted due to acute coronary syndrome presented as unstable angina. Coronary angiography showed a 100% ostial lesion of left main coronary artery and 90% occlusion of the right coronary artery ostium. Subsequent Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA) scan showed prominent thickening of the aortic wall. The Venereal Disease Research Laboratory (VDRL) test was titrated to 1/16. The patient was referred for coronary artery bypass graft (CABG).Keywords:Acute coronary syndrome,Computed Tomography Angiography,Coronary Angiography,Coronary ostial stenosis,Left main coronary artery,right...

Relation of Echocardiographic Parameters to Outcome of Patients with Severe Sepsis and Septic Shock
Conclusion: Diastolic dysfunction was common and a major predictor of mortality and outcome in severe sepsis and septic shock and was well correlated with APACHE-II score. Predictors of Illness Perception in Patients Undergoing Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery
Conclusion: Fortunately in this study the majority of samples had desirable illness perception. Illness perception can affect the patients ’ adaptation with their illness and their treatment adherence after CABG. Thus, interventions to promote understanding of the disease appear to be necessary. Keywords:coronary artery bypasses Illness,Patients, perceptionView:PDF (120.82 KB)Full TextClick here to download the PDF file.‹ Relation of Echocardiographic Parameters to Outcome of Patients with Severe Sepsis and Septic ShockRisk factors for Complex and Severe Coronary Artery Disease in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus › (Source: Jo...
