Abdominal aortic pseudoaneurysm as a complication of chronic pancreatitis: case report

Prevalence of incidental pulmonary thromboembolism in cancer patients: retrospective analysis at a large center
Conclusions Incidental PTE is common among cancer patients, especially those in outpatients follow-up and in advanced stages of the disease. Patients without clinical suspicion also had symptoms suggestive of PTE when they presented for chest CT. (Source: Jornal Vascular Brasileiro)

Regional incidence of venous thromboembolism in Brazil
Conclusions There are more cases of VTE in areas with temperate climates, where temperatures are lower. However, there is still little information in the literature on seasonal fluctuations and incidence of VTE. More studies of this subject are needed. (Source: Jornal Vascular Brasileiro)

The influence of low- and high-energy-density intravenous laser ablation on the saphenofemoral junction, with 1470-nm laser
Conclusions The higher energy density setting was more effective for stabilizing the length of the GSV stump and was associated with a lower incidence of reflux at 6 months. Further studies with a longer follow-up period are required to substantiate this hypothesis. (Source: Jornal Vascular Brasileiro)

Changes in lower extremity blood flow during advancing phases of pregnancy and the effects of special footwear
Conclusions Findings in the experimental group demonstrated that wearing the footwear tested may prevent venous blood velocity from reducing during advanced phases of pregnancy. Nevertheless, there is a need for further investigation of the beneficial effect on venous flow of the footwear tested and its application.

Adolescents: behavior and cardiovascular risk
Conclusions It was found that abdominal fat and being male were important cardiovascular risk factors in adolescents. Considering that modifiable risk factors were present, preventive measures aimed at lifestyle changes are essential. (Source: Jornal Vascular Brasileiro)

Ischemia and reperfusion by retrograde flow: experimental comparative study
Conclusions Comparative analysis of the extremities in ischemia and arterialized ischemia showed, in relation to the control group, metabolic acidosis with significant increases in lactate and creatine kinase, suggesting cellular damage, and there were signs of retrograde reperfusion in arterialized extremities. Lymphedema and Chikungunya fever
We report herein on a unique variation of the left testicular vein observed in an adult male cadaver. The left testicular vein bifurcated to give rise to left and right branches which terminated by joining the left renal vein. There was also an oblique communication between the two branches of the left testicular vein. A slender communicating vein arose from the left branch of the left testicular vein and ascended upwards in front of the left renal vein and terminated into the left suprarenal vein. The right branch of the testicular vein received an unnamed adipose tributary from the side of the abdominal aorta. Awareness ...

Endovascular treatment of an abdominal aortic aneurysm with aortocaval fistula using a vascular occluder and a bifurcated endograft in a single intervention: case report

Endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm with lumbar vertebral erosion in Behçet’s disease: case report
This article reports the case of a female patient with a long-standing diagnosis of Beh çet ’ s Disease who developed a saccular infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm with lumbar vertebral erosion. Her surgical treatment consisted of endovascular repair with a monoiliac endoprosthesis and a femorofemoral crossover bypass, because of limitations imposed by the anatomy of the aortic bifurcation. This paper discusses the rarity of this presentation of the disease and treatment outcomes and offers a brief review of the relevant literature. (Source: Jornal Vascular Brasileiro)
