Neck Mass in a Premature Infant
We present an infant with fibromatosis colli born at the earliest gestational age and with the lowest birth weight of any case previously documented. His only risk factor for fibromatosis colli was breech presentation, a common condition at his gestational age. (Source: International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology Extra)

Craniometaphyseal Dysplasia and otolaryngology findings
We present a 3-year-old girl referred to an otolaryngology consultation with complaints of facial dysmorphia and progressive hearing loss. The clinical aspects, pathogenesis, and management of this disease are also reviewed in this paper.Early diagnosis is crucial to allow early medical or surgical treatment and to establish prognosis. Accessory Cervical Thymus Presenting in Conjunction with a Thyroglossal Duct Cyst
We present an unusual case of a lateral neck mass presenting in conjunction with a thyroglossal duct cyst with review of literature. A 7-year-old boy presented with a midline mass consistent with a thyroglossal duct cyst and a second lesion adjacent to the left inferior lobe of the thyroid confirmed to be ectopic thymus after excision. This is the first reported case of ectopic cervical thymus diagnosed in conjunction with a thyroglossal duct cyst. It is possible that both lesions developed by a similar mechanism. Glass in the Glottis: A Pediatric Case Report
Foreign body aspiration in children is not a rare event; fortunately, death due to foreign body aspiration is. Nonetheless, choking is one of the leading causes of accidental death in children in the United States. Most airway foreign bodies are found in the bronchi and most foreign bodies are composed of seeds, pieces of food, or small metallic and plastic toys. Truly laryngeal foreign bodies are not commonly encountered. Glass presenting as an airway foreign body is exceedingly rare. In this case report, we present a patient who presented with two rarities: a large glass shard in the larynx. (Source: International Journa...

Parapharyngeal neuroglial heterotopia: An unusual entity
We report a rare case of heterotopic neuroglial tissue in the left parapharyngeal space. Ultrasound neck was suggestive of atypical cystic hygroma. Computerised Tomography (CT) and Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed a heterogeneous mass with cystic component occupying the parapharyngeal space. No connection to intracranial structures was noted. Histological findings were compatible with neuroglial heterotopia. (Source: International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology Extra)

Spitzoid Melanoma Mimicking a Pyogenic Granuloma in a 21-month-old Child
Even though the overall prevalence of pediatric melanoma is low, the incidence continues to rise. Spitzoid melanocytic lesions have been the subject of controversy for over a decade, resulting in a confounding nosological classification. Despite the use of more refined histological criteria and newer molecular diagnostic tests, the absolute distinction between completely benign and overtly malignant spitzoid lesions remains difficult, and the prediction of their biologic behavior uncertain. Herein, we report a 21-month-old child with nodular melanoma with spitzoid features that arose on the check and clinically mimicked a ...

Supraglottic epithelial hyperplasia in association with guttate psoriasis
Supraglottic epithelial hyperplasia is rare in the pediatric population, and typically presents in adults as a sequelae of radiation therapy or progressive autoimmune disease. Guttate psoriasis typically presents in young adults following an inflammatory trigger such as an upper respiratory infection or streptococcal pharyngitis. A case of stridorous episodes heralded by flares guttate psoriasis is presented. Pathologic analysis demonstrated supraglottic epithelial hyperplasia. This case demonstrates a rare cause of stridor and upper airway obstruction in children. (Source: International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology Extra)

Dual thyroid ectopia: A case report and literature review
Ectopic thyroid gland is a type of thyroid dysgenesis which also includes abnormalities such as thyroid hemiagenesis and persistent thyroglossal duct tracts. These abnormalities occur anywhere from 1 in 100,000 to 300,000 live births. Only 30 cases of dual thyroid ectopia have been reported. The authors present a case of dual thyroid ectopia to discuss diagnostic and management strategies. The study is a case report encountered at a tertiary health care center. The etiology, diagnosis, and treatment of dual thyroid ectopia are discussed. (Source: International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology Extra)

Syringocystadenoma papilliferum of external auditory canal and pinna: A rare presentation
Syringocystadenoma papilliferum (SCAP) is a rare benign skin tumour characterized by extensive papillary epithelial elements growing into the dermis. SCAP often presents at birth and most commonly in the head and neck. However, it rarely involves ear. Here, we present a case of SCAP involving external auditory canal and pinna and its surgical management involving excision and split skin grafting.
